Pubic bone pain anyone?

This is my second pregnancy and im definetly carrying lower. When I'm walking or on my feet for a good amount of pain I feel like I've been kicked in the pubic bone. And the whole area seems swollen. Sometimes I just have to stop and massage it for temporary relief! Phew!

Re: Pubic bone pain anyone?

  • I am now constantly sore or feel pain right above the pubic bone...lower abdomin area. Especially when I get up from sitting or sleeping. Ugghhhh! Doctor said it's probably round ligament pain. :((

  • I just asked my ob about this at my last appointment. Said very common to also have pelvic floor pain- he said it can be very painful as everything shifts getting ready for birth
  • I called my dr last week because I was having that same pain but it was so bad it was shooting pains and I could barely walk. They sent me to the ER and after checking everything out they said it was round ligament pain. I've had that before but nothing close to this level of pain. They suggested getting a maternity belt to help with some of the pressure, but really I just have to wait it out since everything is stretching at different rates. Its not as bad this week but there are still some times that I feel like my pubic bone was hit by a linebacker.
  • So glad I'm not the only one who is feeling this! I keep saying everything hurts and feels swollen ddown there. Dr said it's probably round ligament pain and to take it easy for a few days. that's totally possible with a two year old. :))
  • I'm glad this was posted. I've been in so much pain these past couple of weeks and it makes me feel a little better that others are going through it too! Not that I wish this pain even existed for anyone..cause it stinks lol
  • I'm right there with you ladies. I've also read that it may be pelvic girdle pain and/or may be associated with when I'm having Braxton-hicks. Try light stretching and pelvic floor exercises and make sure to stay hydrated
  • I have had pain down there since 18 weeks. It is no fun and is starting to get worse. When I am in bed and turn from one side to the other my bones will pop/crack. I have found that if I am sitting for a long time to always have a pillow or something between my thighs. If I don't every time I go to move I get shooting pains.
