We are officially TTC after vasectomy reversal!

My husband had his vasectomy reversal last week so we can officially try as of this cycle! So excited.

This will be the first time either of us have tried having a child. I had some fertility testing done before he had his reversal (didn't want to spend $9k if there was no hope). My numbers are in the iffy/borderline range but I have been charting for a while and I am still ovulating. When he had the reversal, the surgeon did sperm aspiration and we have it banked in case the reversal fails or we need to do IVF. I've been reading these boards for a while and am so happy to finally be able to TTC. Crossing fingers for everyone.

Hello and welcome.Good luck to you.I'm wondering why he had a vasectomy as well if he had no children unless I'm misunderstanding it.

He made up his mind at a young age that he would never have kids because of his terrible childhood (divorced parents). When he was 29, he needed minor surgery down there for a different issue and decided that they may as well do the vasectomy at the same time. I just recently found out that the doctor who did the first surgery, refused to do the vasectomy so there was a scramble to find a surgeon to take over to do the vasectomy. He met me a year later and on our first date told me he would never get married or have kids. I almost bailed, but something about him made me give it a chance. He proposed about a year later completely out of the blue and here we are. I think being in a stable and happy relationship/environment allowed him to imagine that a wife and child would be possible for him. Now he's a big mush ball who cries when he sees dads and babies on TV. It's adorable.

Ah ok I understand now thank you for clearing that up.I'm glad we was able to over come that.I waited 10 years to get married just for that reason.Bad childhood with my parents so I understand where he was coming from.
