Alliteration with First and Last Name

I posted about this a bit ago but want opinions, I got more which first and middle name combo worked best which was fine.

Since I was younger I loved the name Taryn (like Karen but with a T) but with my last name which also starts with T and creates the alliteration. My husband really likes how it sounds and I get mixed reviews and I know it is our decision but it is a top name.

What do you think of the name
Taryn Felicity Tuttle?

Is it to weird or does it matter since we won't be calling her Taryn Tuttle all the time, maybe teachers during roll call?

You obviously love this name, as you have made a few posts asking about it. Just go with it. Aliteration isn't my cup of tea, but it doesn't sound bad or weird.

My name became alliteration when I got married (initials went from KMF to KMK). I was worried about it but really it's not a huge deal. I think you should go for it. I think it's one of those things we overthink at the time that doesn't really matter later on. Not to downplay your question at all, because I've definitely been there!

There's also a good chance that she will change her LN at some point as an adult. Maybe not, but the chance is there.

Just use the name since you love it so much. At this point I feel like you're going to regret it if you don't.

I think it sounds fine and shouldn't stop you from using the name you love. I often like the sound of alliteration with first and last name.

I usually like alliteration. Taryn Tuttle is an awful lot of T's, but if you love it go with it!

I personally prefer to avoid alliteration. Tuttle is T-heavy so if I were you I wouldn't use a T first name (my last name is B and I'm avoiding some B names I would otherwise have on my list). But others love alliteration. Do what feels right for you!

Would you go with Felicity Taryn? My last name has 3 N's. H and I loved Shannon for a girl, but 6 N's in one name is a bit much. Taryn Tuttle runs together for me when I say it aloud which is how Shannon Last Name was as well (Sounded a lot like Sha-na-na-na-na). And as much as you think she will never go by first and last name, when you have a name that rolls off the tongue like that, you just do. Everyone called me by my FN LN in high school and college.

I also made a few threads asking for Shannon opinions. At the end of the day, we crossed Shannon off the list. We didn't want to give our kid a name we were second guessing constantly even though we loved it.

So, there's some thoughts from someone with a similar issue.

Good point! I have a friend who's first and last name start with D's since she got married. Both pretty short names with great alliteration. I call her by her first and last name everytime. I probably even say her name when I am talking to her more than I usually would, just because it is fun to say

Now I am wondering if that bothers her, ha! I bet I would do the same with Taryn Tuttle.

I like the Ts. It's not a huge deal. Our daughter is GLG. She may get Gi-Gi as a nickname. Who knows. Taryn is unique and if you love it and DH is on board... Go for it.

I married into alliteration too (my first name and married last name both start with K) and DH's name starts with a hard C so we have a lot of K sounds going on when our names are said together. It's kind of cartoony but I don't mind it. We did, however, purposely avoid K and C names with our girls so it didn't just become silly. I normally do like the sound of alliteration and think alliterative names are memorable and appealing... But I think because your last name has multiple T sounds, not just at the beginning, it is a little bit too much. As PP have said though, if you love it, go for it.

I'm having the same concerns with one of our top names. Hubby and I like William, but our last name starts with a W. I'm still debating what to do, so I totally understand.

That being said, have you considered the name Maren? I pronounce it the same as Taryn, but with an M. It's similar to the name you love, but it gets rid of the alliteration. Just something to consider.

I have alliteration in my name, Jessica J. I've always liked it and frequently get compliments. My grandfather says it's a "movie star" name. Ha..if you google my name, it certainly belongs to a star....a porn star. Oh well, I still like it.
