Sleeping pattern Advice

my baby boy is going to be a month tomorrow and has his days and nights messed up. During the day he sleeps perfect but at night he will go with no sleep for 4 hours until his next feeding time. He sometimes gets fussy but other than that hes just wide Awake. Ive tried the rock n play a swing and bouncer but he cries after ten minutes. Its exhausting being up at night that long. Any advice!?

Re: Sleeping pattern Advice

  • Keep him awake more during the day so that he's tired by night time. Easier said than done though, I lived through it in week 1.

  • If the weather is nice try taking him outside during the day, even if he is sleeping. It really helped our little guy switch.
  • Have some light in the room during day naps and at night keep it dark. This will help the start time realize day and night. During the day play with them to keep them more awake longer.
  • Ditto PPs. Try to create a separation between day and night, keep curtains open, take walks outside, wake them to eat if nap goes too long. At night keep lights dim, noise level quiet, and try to avoid a lot of eye contact when feeding and changing. When we took a baby care class before our first child the teacher said eye contact is one of the most stimulating things for a baby.
