hey ladies who exercise-
I am trying to be super cautious this first trimester as far as exercise since I had a loss in May. I'm going to stay active - just lifting lighter weights, not going as hard during cardio, avoiding some yoga poses. As far as ab work- I've read that it is fine to continue first trimester and read that it's not. What's everyone doing for ab work??

I actually just called the nurses to confirm that volleyball, running, tennis were still okay. Basically she said that as long as you aren't starting a new program and you modify when you need to and stay hydrated, it's generally okay to continue what you were doing.
I do remember, from last time, that ab work on the floor / lying on your back needs to be modified sooner than you typically think (sometimes as early as 12 weeks) because of the weight / pressure on inferior vena cava can compress it and you don't want to risk reducing or cutting off the blood supply to baby.
