Great start to the 2nd trimester...having to look for a quick daily facial cleanser/makeup remover as my face decided to start breaking out here and there and getting itchy.
Remedies for a busy working mom of a toddler and expecting???
This! Acne has been just the worst the last few weeks. I feel like as I started to get it under control, second trimester came around and now it's worse than before. I use cetaphik for wash, witch hazel as toner and and oil free moisturizer twice a day. I haven't been this diligent to clear my skin since I was 15!
I've always had acne problems and before coming pregnant I was on birth control which is the main thing that keeps my acne controlled and I also used a prescription topical called aczone, but of course cannot take these while pregnant. After much research I started using "Belli," both the cleanser and spot treatment. It was made specifically for pregnant people by an OB/GYN. It actually works pretty good, I'd definitely suggest giving it a try.
I second the above suggestion of using 'Belli'. I was breaking out everywhere in the beginning of this pregnancy and found Belli on Amazon, and within a week, everything cleared up and has stayed that way for weeks! I use it on my face, chest and back!
Ugh, with my first pregnancy I broke out so bad on my face, back, shoulders, and chest!! It was aweful. This time around I am just starting to notice the acne popping up again . I liked to keep face wipes with me in my purse because my face would get so oily during the day (burts bees sensitive face wipes). I was afraid to use anything with salycic acid in it, but this time around I read that of its not orally taken its ok in moderation so I wash my face with a regular cleanser (Perfectly Posh- complexion perfection) and use an acne moisturizer. Guess I'll be bumping that up to twice a day and buying more face wipes if it starts to get as bad as last time I may just go see a dermatologist. Definitely not one of my favorite things about pregnancy! Good luck - would love to hear about the products that work for all of you!

I'm going to have to try this. I definitely need something for my face and chest.

I've been using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser followed by the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream for about 3 years now and have only really had a couple of pimples, no breakouts or skin issues since using it. FWIW I also don't wear a whole lot of makeup either, I like collecting it, just not actually using it lol
Yes, Belli products! I have the spot treatment and the face wash. Got from Amazon as well. And I got an email that in honor of national bf month, in your purchase of a certain amount you get a free lip balm (I think last day is today. Love me some free stuff).
I've never heard of belli but I will definitely be looking into it right now. My face is out of control. It's actually really depressing. Since being a teenager I've been on accutane twice. I finally had clear(ish) skin and now this pregnancy has reversed everything the accutane had done for me. Oh well, the end result will be worth it.

I'm going to have to look into Belli because I've been using cetaphil and have gotten horrible cycstic pimples in my chin area or right next to my mouth so it's hard to open to bite and chew food
Soooo glad I'm not alone on this one, my acne has been so bad! I normally have really clear skin so it's very noticable. Plus, being summer, it's visible on my chest as well as my face! Ugh. Thanks for the Belli suggestion - hoping that will help!
My face was hurting so bad from breaking out but didnt want to use harsh chemicals. So many chemicals in face cleaners are on the no no list. So though, skeptical I tried coconut oil in small quantities, and my face in two days was soooo much better. No painful boils and my skin looks great. I was actually concerned that adding an oil would make it worst, but it worked amazingly.
If you want to try, I'm just using organic cooking oil I got at the grocery store. I found one that was a liquid vs solid easier to apply; but in winter you just warm it up or use it like a soap. Then I rub it on my freshly washed hands like a lotion and rub it on my face from my hands so it is just a small quanity. Been working like a charm. And I smell like coconuts Lol.
There are also recipes and many uses for coconut oil out there, I had no idea... Or premade facial washes and lotions with it too, you may want to check out if you're more comfortable that rout.
I use Oil of Olay facial cleansing cloths. They are so gentle and remove make-up easily. Trader Joe's has facial cleansers, I think. And all of their stuff is organic! We use their shampoo for itchy scalp in the winter and it worked really well!
I don't know if you're finding out the sex of baby--but I wonder if you're having a girl?? Old wive's tale say that girls make their mommies break-out.

I just bought some but have yet to use it. I'm hoping it works because it's a little spendy.
Looks like I need to invest in belli. Good lord this is terrible. I do not remember this happening with my last pregnancy (which for old wives takes sake was a girl) but it sure is this time around. Best part is that I'm 14 weeks and mostly just look like I have a beer and nachos belly going- so add on the acne- I must look like such a hot mess to strangers.

I'm in the same boat... My teenage years never left when it comes to acne ... I'm 29 now... I have to try Belli... Thank you so much for the suggestion!
