Rough weekend

LO has wanted to do nothing but nurse for comfort all weekend! He won't sleep unless he's being held, he's really mostly been crying unless he's on the boob. Im not sure what's wrong with him or if he's just having one of those days. I've gotten him to sleep in his crib for no longer than 45 minutes in two days, but slept on the boob and in my arms for an hour and a half today. I haven't been able to do much of anything but take a break to pee. DH has made us dinner and kept my water full, I sure hope this doesn't last all week! I love snuggles but it is exhausting and pushing my sanity when all he does is cry when he's not attached to the tap!

Re: Rough weekend

  • Sorry to hear this! My little one did the same one weekend and I found that putting him in our moby wrap and giving him a pacifier worked wonders! It may not have been ideal, but I at least was able to get a little bit done! Hope he sleeps for you soon! Youre doing a great job mama!

  • Mine is often like this too! Could be a growth spurt. Do you have a swing? Sometimes my LO is crying because he is tired, not hungry but still doesn't want to sleep in the crib. He will go to sleep right away in the swing. The constant nursing is hell on my nipples and my mood, so these days I try to change it up a bit--LO also likes it when I hold him to my chest and carry him for a bit. If wearing baby is an option, definitely try that as pp said.
  • Same thing happened to me. I had to just cut him off and hold him to my chest. I just walked around the house talking softly to him, rocking, a little singing maybe... He calmed down pretty quick. Trying to continue feeding just frustrated him.
  • Babywear. When ours does this we Babywear and it works like a charm. We make the boba wrap extra tight and I just wear a thin tank top so it's almost like skin to skin.
