Am I overreacting?

I've been freaking out about going into preterm labor lately for some odd reason.. I'm measuring 5 weeks ahead and I feel like I'm almost as big as I was the day I had my dd. Today and yesterday I've had some stomach cramps and I've just brushed them off, but now I'm feeling severely nauseous.. I haven't had any morning sickness since about 21 weeks. The stomache cramps don't really feel like contractions or anything just cramping and I just feel overall really tired and sick. I've also felt like I need to go to the bathroom, but never can. Also when I went to pee last night I peed then got up and wiped then a trickle of fluids came out after then I got fresh toilet paper and wiped and smelled it and it didn't have any smell and didn't smell like pee.. I'm probably just overreacting, and I know I don't feel like I'm having contractions, but could this be a sign of anything?
Edit: oh and my dr asked last week if I was having any contractions like he was suspecting me to be having them already or something and he wasn't talking about bh.. I'm just a confused stressed momma right now..

  • Have you talked to your doctor?? You seem to have a lot of legitimately difficult stuff going on and I'd hate to think you're not in close contact with your OB or midwife...

  • I agree I would go in or atleast call in. Is the baby still active?

    Severely nauseous -- check
    cramping -- check
    desire to push -- check?
    fluid leaking -- check

To be honest, it sounds like you really need to call the nurse line (at least) or go in (at most). It is really hard to tell if your symptoms are manifesting themselves or if you're experiencing signs of preterm labor. I think that the only way to know is if I was your doctor. I wish we could offer more support or help, but it really sounds like you need some good medical advice on this one. I hope it isn't anything and that perhaps you caught a bug. You're right in wanting to make sure that LO stays snug in there!

I would call your doc first thing tomorrow morning, at least. They'll probably want you to come in, or go to hospital. I'd ask if I could come to their office first, then to hospital if needed. Hopefully it's nothing, but better be safe.

No. I wouldn't wait. Call on call staff or L&D now.
  • If you're measuring 5 weeks ahead, is it really preterm labor? Sorry just trying to see if maybe they got the due date wrong:) I would def ask your doctor whether it's even something to worry about or not.
  • Sounds like it could be something serious. Call your doctor's after hours number or go get checked out.
  • My doctor always asks me if I'm having contractions... I'm pregnant. And she's my doctor. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about your doc asking. I think you are freaking out and if you are measuring 5 weeks ahead... I agree with pp. they may have gotten the due date wrong.
