Why do I torture myself?

We haven't been able to find out if we are having a boy or girl (two ultrasounds with beautiful feet). The tech and dr said it's "probably" a girl... My 2yo is a boy, so we have no girl clothes.
I'll be happy either way, of course want a healthy baby. But today I got sucked into the clearance baby clothes at target and couldn't stop myself from buying girl clothes just in case! My rationale is a friend is having a girl 2 weeks before me, so I could just give it to her if I have a boy.... But I know it'll be disappointing to give up these adorable outfits!

  • It would drive me crazy not being able to know. I think your clothes buying is justified though. At least you know someone who can use them if you can't. I miss buying baby girl clothes! We're having a boy this time.

  • The closer you get to the due date, the less you have to worry about not being able to return things. Have fun shopping!

I drove myself crazy the first weeks of my pregnancy scheming girl nursery ideas even though I didn't know yet. It turns out we're having a girl, so I got to use my nursery ideas. But if we had another boy? We'd figure it out.

  • Have you considered paying for a 3d 4d from a recreational place? The one we have locally is only 60 and the lady is a licensed sonographer, so she's not some fly by night whoever doing it. I keep having to talk myself out of paying for one. It's just so tempting and I'd have no self control if we hadn't been able to find out the sex of the baby early on.
  • We chose to pay for a 3D ultrasound to determine the sex of our baby. They won't tell us here during the anatomy scan or through the genetic blood test. We paid $250 taxes in for ours, but we are in Canada and I hear it's cheaper in the US ! I'd look into doing it !
  • We also have a place nearby that does gender reveal scans, and part of me is dieing to do it. My husband doesn't want to know though (took lots of convincing at the Drs office), so he doesn't want to spend the money for a third ultrasound that we still might not find out. "It's not medically necessary" is his chant.
  • The 3D place in my town does a guarantee! If they can't find out the first time, you can go try again for free :) I did a special and paid $80 and got 10 print outs and and a CD with about images
