So sharing and I'm sure you've had them too so share away! In the words of late Robin Williams in Hook, "Where are your parents?" I have these moments a lot.
Driving home I see a little boy about 5 playing in the street in front of a house that is for lease. I live a few houses up. I stop the car and look for his parents or someone and there's no one. I get out and keep my distance so I don't scare him and ask if he is OK? He doesn't respond. So I ask where his parents are and he doesn't respond. I ask if he can point to where his parents are and he points to the house. I say maybe you should play on the sidewalk. Then an older child runs out and pulls him out of the street so I drive home.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do if he didn't get out of the street. I know no parent is perfect, but that close to a busy road is not where I would want any child.
