Ever have one of those where are your parents moments?

So sharing and I'm sure you've had them too so share away! In the words of late Robin Williams in Hook, "Where are your parents?" I have these moments a lot.

Driving home I see a little boy about 5 playing in the street in front of a house that is for lease. I live a few houses up. I stop the car and look for his parents or someone and there's no one. I get out and keep my distance so I don't scare him and ask if he is OK? He doesn't respond. So I ask where his parents are and he doesn't respond. I ask if he can point to where his parents are and he points to the house. I say maybe you should play on the sidewalk. Then an older child runs out and pulls him out of the street so I drive home.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do if he didn't get out of the street. I know no parent is perfect, but that close to a busy road is not where I would want any child.

  • It's crazy in my neighbourhood, there will be kids, 3 and 4 outside alone ... My son is almost 4 and I would never let him outside alone !

  • I always think this when I see kids up moving/walking around in a moving car or a car at a stop light. I get so nervous that they are going to be in an accident and something is going to happen.
