Lactation cookies

Has anyone had any success with a certain lactation cookie company? Or a cookie recipe they have tried?
Do they seem to increase supply?
Or is it just a reason to eat more cookies?

Re: Lactation cookies

  • Following! Just checked out what's offered on Amazon and looked up recipes. Thinking it may be easier to buy premade ones now and then trying recipes when LO is older than 8 days. They just seem so expensive!
  • Loading the player...
  • This is exactly what I was thinking. Some of the websites actually have subscriptions.
    Subscriptions to cookies??
This seems like a Liz Lemon idea.
  • May lurker.  I made my own, I just used a basic chocolate haystacks recipe - no bake, and they are mainly oatmeal anyway.  I added 4tbs of ground flax, and 2 tbs of brewer's yeast to make them more lactation friendly per 'batch and a half'.  This seems appropriate ratios to other recipes.  I'm trying so many lactation aids, I'm not sure if they helped more than something else, but they're also chocolate, so...
    :P

  • @corndogrobot I like your style. "Lactation" cookies. I see you!
  • Try milkmakers brand - oatmeal chocolate chip are my fave. They sell them at babys r us and they are delish. I believe they help :)
  • Update: I tried the Milk'n Cookies oatmeal chocolate chip and it seems to help. And they are really good. Maybe too good.
  • I'm eating no bake lactation cookies and drinking Gatorade... Definitely working :)
  • @aprilram how much are they at Babies R us?
  • I've been making my own no bake lactation balls. I think they are delish! Found the recipe on pinterest. Super easy to make too. And I feel they have helped. I also try to eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning with flax meal.
  • I've been making my own also. I grabbed this recipe from Pinterest. I don't add chocolate though.

    Recipe:

    2 cups dry oats

    1 cup peanut butter

    1 cup white chocolate chips

    2/3 cup honey

    1 cup ground flaxseed

    1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    4 tablespoons brewer’s yeast

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Roll into balls.

Layer in between wax paper and store in fridge.
