Stress / Hormones

** I already checked for s daily symptoms thread and didn't see one for today, I used the search feature and nothing came up with what I'm experiencing. **

I've got this horrible rash that feels like a thousand fire ants biting me at one time. I've had it pre-pregnancy and I'm 90% sure that it's stress related but also probably hormonal too. It's in the same spot, takes the same shape, and does not respond to Benadryl topicals, steroid topicals, etc.
Does anyone else experience this and how on earth do they manage it??

Re: Stress / Hormones

  • Sorry, I have no advice except to say I would call my doctor if it doesn't respond to OCT medications.

Agreed.  I would definitely consult my doctor.  Sorry you are experiencing this though!  It looks very uncomfortable. :(

  • Ugh so discouraging. My apt is on Tuesday so I will talk to my doctor then. It hasn't been an issue in a long time so I haven't brought it up to her before because I didn't think it would continue to be an issue.
    Thanks anyways y'all.
  • Sorry you are uncomfortable. I have history of eczema (not saying thats what you have) and one of the things that helped was not having anything rubbing on it. Maybe wearring open neck shirts and removing jewelry could keep it from further irritation. Also, i used to freeze wet towels and put it on my skin to remove the hot feeling and desire to itch. Hope the doc can help.
  • @narissa2013 I have eczema also! Definitely going to try the frozen towel trick.
  • I'm having an unknown rash too. I also erupted in stress hives last night. Now there's 3 itchy patches going on, stress gives, eczema, and the unknown. I just read last night that if you have eczema, you could have an overgrowth of yeast. It was a good read.

OP- definitely bring it up to your doctor even if it was prepregnancy. They know what you can try to relieve it.
