September 2015 Moms

Proud of myself (and my dog) today!

There was a 3 mile walk for our local humane society today, and obviously, being 35 weeks pregnant and it being FL (where it's 90 degrees at 7:30 in the morning) I'd been off and on about going. I got my butt out of bed at 6am and grabbed my dog (leaving a sleeping toddler and Daddy at home, it's a Mommy day!) and went walking! It doesn't sound like far, but I was sweaty and had to pee at least twice haha, but we made it! My shepherd is 7 so he was toughing it out with me too. We felt pretty badass today, and then proceeded to come home and nap. :) Any other ladies still getting out there? I wasn't sure about going at first, but now am glad I did!

  • Way to go! I still go out to the barn with My daughter and while she rides I walk the trails sometimes, plus all the chores that go with horses I am feeling pretty good about being 33 weeks pregnant :)

  • I went to our state fair today. We walked around for three hours. I also enjoyed some yummy fair food. I was proud of myself because it was hot and we did walk around for quite a bit. Now I'm home resting...
  • I took my pups on a 3 mile hike today. .now we're all pooped out on the couch!
  • You go mamas!!
Ever year NYC closes Lexington Ave to traffic and people can walk or bike or do whatever on it. Every year we would take our bikes but this year we just walked it. It was still about two miles but maybe next weekend I'll try it again but on my bike. I sure miss my bike.
Tomorrow we will go on a small hike with our doggy... That is another thing I miss a lot.
  • Amazing. I can only go for a walk if i know there will be bathrooms every 15 min. So hiking with my dog has been out of the question latley. Good for you!
  • Jealous of all these posts! I can't walk for more than 3 mins without feeling weak and lightheaded/out of breath! next pregnancy im def making sure im fit earlier on!!
  • I work in central London (in the UK) and walk a 1 1/2 miles each way to and from the station and have done ever since I have been pregnant. I can still do it but am much slower than I used to be and have to use a belly support. Feel good for it though!
  • At 32 weeks, I power walked a 5K in memory of my dad. My family and friends were impressed as I passed them! It made me feel really powerful.
  • A few weeks ago a walked a 5k through some pretty extreme desert terrain. The hills were a killer but it felt so good! Also did 4 laps around the track, I would do squats, then run the straight away, and walk the rest, repeat. Lately all I've been doing is short walks and squats and such.
Kudos to you for keeping active :D
  • Way to go! I had to give up running a week ago (at 34 weeks) and am now on the elliptical 3x a week and walking the dog 2 miles opposite days. I'm tired but I really do feel good when it's done. Keep it up ladies, we're almost there :D
  • Yea! These posts are so awesome! I totally haven't been super active this whole pregnancy, I just really love doing dog friendly activities and didn't want to miss out just because I was feeling like a whale, lol, so I made myself do it, but to all the ladies that do it all the time, I am so impressed! When we walk the neighborhood I am sweating like crazy. After the walk I sat on a bench to rest and left a sweaty butt print, hahahhahaha, someone will get a kick out of that.
  • Well done for keeping going when it's so easy to do nothing! Walking up to 3 miles a day with my dog, and just got a 10 month Airedale for the next 3 weeks at 36 weeks. The walks will keep me sane and the puppy sleepy I hope!!
