Early induction vent

if one more patient comes in between 35-39 weeks begging to be induced cause they are u comfortable or having occasional contractions I might scream. You are not freaking term or due yet. You need to be patient and wait your turn. Your baby will come and your body is prepping for that. My baby's head is so far in my pelvis at this point and I would never ask for an early induction (37w2d here). I just don't understand.

Selfish and I shouldnt say this but I feel a little ignirant as well. Not dumb, just ignorant to knowledge about the importance of those last few weeks.
  • Ignorant is correct. The Drs at my hospital will not induce early but this one girl who is due the day after me seriously comes in at least once a week for something and has been since about 32 weeks. I wanna be like suck it up you are not in labor. She had a preterm labor scare and was in the hospital and her mom was like there is no way she will make it full term or to her due date. I recanted with I have seen numerous moms who had some early preterm labor that have to be induced at 41 weeks and she looked at me dumbfounded.
  • Ha. I wish we could use that line. But I would get in trouble. When they ask when I am due and I say about 3 weeks they are like you shouldn't be working or doing this or that. I keep thinking to myself why I am pregnant not handicap. I hope I don't go over due but I am not going to whine over not being delivering now. I want baby to cook till ready.
  • @Bailey1823A I had to tell a room full of family last night "im pregnant not broken!" From asking why I'm still working, to asking why am I standing. Wth
  • I completely agree. I have to be induced for medical reasons and we are still having a conversation with the Dr about the best timing, in terms of I want to let her cooknas long as I can without actually causing harm to myself.
So when people whine about wanting to be done and induce early, I really can't relate. I told someone the other day given my other issues, I have a hard time even mentioning little inconveniences.
  • @deviduke412 you're almost there! Like any moment now :)

  • I don't understand that kind of thinking at all! I'm upset that I just got told that I'm being induced on my due date (if the LO doesn't show up before then) due to slightly higher BP. I really wanted to let everything happen naturally on its own but at least the Dr. is letting me go until my due date so I feel like she's fully "cooked". The doctors at my practice/hospital absolutely will not induce a patient (or do a C section for that matter) unless it's medically needed

    This.
  • So weird! I'm booked for an induction on Thursday (will be 11 days over then) if baby hasn't arrived yet. At this point it's CTG's and stretch and sweeps every 48 hours cos baby is happy and healthy and what's the point in an unnecessary induction?
