Uncircumcised care .

So DH and I didn't get our LO circumcised.
No one at the hospital told me anything about how to care for it .
I did get a little magazine type book about baby care but everything that has to do with that it shows care for circumcision.
My MIL says I should be pulling back the foreskin but a dr site I came across said you should never pull back the skin till it does it on its own .
But then again my mil could be wrong as she's been with many things and plus her boys are circumcised.
I tried looking it up but all that I can find are how to clean it once he's able to be submerged in water or when he's older and so on .
Can anyone tell me anything I should know or how I should be cleaning it now?
Or post links because Google isn't guiding me in the right direction.
TIA .

Do NOT pull back the foreskin! Just wipe it diaper changes and wash it during bath time. No "special" care required. Just leave it be :)
  • Yeah that's what I was thinking , thanks for confirming what originally thought . :)

Leave it alone. Do not pull back the skin ever.

Please this. Also, you need to make sure you speak with your pedi in regards to care. We have done nothing special to care for DS at this point.

  • What made you not want to circumcise your LO, if you don't mind me asking? I automatically thought to circumcise mine LO because my husband is. I'm interested in hearing your opinion on the subject. Is there health benefits to it?
  • My son is not done. No special care needed. And Do not pull it back you can really cause damage.
The penis is not defective it's made this way it will pull its self back around 5-8 years old and not before then. Watch nurses and doctors they pull it back out of old school notions

My son is uncircumcised, there is no special care. He is 15 months now and when I bathe him I gently pull back his foreskin and rinse with plain water (some boys retract easier, my son is one of them, maybe because he's always pulling on it?) but in the beginning I just left it alone. Talk to his pediatrician, never force back his foreskin.
