Dry heaving

Does anyone else have nausea all day? I have yet to vomit but I dry heave almost every hour. My stomach will not calm down. I wish I could throw up maybe it'd feel better. Anyone else?

Re: Dry heaving

  • I have nausea that comes in waves all day but have also yet to throw up. Only dry heaved a few times though! Wish I could offer some advice! I just try to remember that it means everything is okay and right on track.

  • Yes, I had it horribly with ds #1 so I'm not surprised I have it again.

You can do 1/2 unisom (not the one with diphenhydramine ) with 1/2 25mg B6 tablet twice daily. Also, sea bands and ginger tummy drops. Other than that, eat protein heavy foods.
  • I dry heaved quite a bit last Wednesday. Oddly, it was the smell of toilet water that did it to me (not pee, not poop, literally the toilet water). I have to basically always have food in my stomach.
  • Update: throwing up did not feel any better. Lol
  • Yes :(

Unfortunately, it seems to have hit me earlier with this pregnancy. I am having waves of nausea and dry heaving several times a day. In my last pregnancies this continued all the way to the end of the first tri. I am hoping since it is starting earlier that it will end earlier.
  • Update: throwing up did not feel any better. Lol

This is what I was gonna say! Unlike when you're sick (aka hungover haha), throwing up doesn't make you feel better. Talk to your doc if it's seriously interfering with your job/life, esp if you try the unisom and it doesn't help .

  • What about the sore throat that comes with the dry heaving - one of my aversions is tea -.-
  • I get waves of dry heaving that shows up every few days. Today is one of those days. Thank heaven for Disney junior to babysit my kids while I lie on the couch
  • I struggle with dry heaving, but vomit comes eventually about 60 percent of the time. Sometimes after heaving for 5-10 minutes straight or an hour after an episode. I feel so much better afterward and sometimes I find myself just pleading to throw up.

I have a guarantee dry heave after every shower. I'm contemplating being a very dirty person this pregnancy. Thank goodness it's cooling down.

Smells are a trigger for dry heaving. If someone cooks fish at work again I'm going to flip, ha.

The heat also gets to me. Bring on fall.
  • This is my life currently. Extremely nauseous all day and night. I feel like I'd get a little relief if I actually barfed but nothing comes up. Ahhh
  • Yep, I have the trifecta: nausea from morning until night, dry heaving multiple times a day, throwing up multiple times a day.  No relief.  Ever.

  • Yes! Always nauseous. Frequent dry heaving. Rarely vomiting. No miracle cures yet. Or even coping tips yet. I'm 1 week since it started in earnest.
