Yup. People get a lot of really stupid warnings and it is a huge part of why our board is so dull. You can't say anything without someone being report happy for no reason.
I lurk a lot mostly because I assume if I post responses to the dumb posts/comments I'll get reported based on what I've seen happen already. I comment on the boring posts to try and stay connected but it's making it all feel really sterile now because everyone is toning it down.
Yeah this is a pretty lame board. This is the 5th group i've been a part of in the past 4 years (and 3 pregnancies). Most boring one Ive ever been on. It's really too bad most people are 'scared' of posting. Me included.

It is the weekend don't forget... Seems they don't work weekends.
They come out on Sunday night and Monday morning.
I remember that Lacy chick that got banned that thread ran all freakin night before they finally shut it down late monday morning. I wouldn't be surprised if they lurked all weekend. Can we not try for board moderators like the old days?
I'm confused, what warrants getting a warning around here? Gruesome details? Cussing? Inappropriate pictures? I've yet to see anything that I find disturbing enough to report but I have a high tolerance to most things. I've been a member of multiple sports related message boards that can be pretty strict about staying on topic but this is my first board with a primarily woman audience so what's the deal?

Anything they decide violates the TOU is warning-worthy. Which is great for most of the guidelines in the TOU- name calling, harassment, posting someone else's personal info, being purposefully and overly aggressive or rude, I think swearing at someone is on there(?)... the problem is one of their guidelines is that you "aren't allowed to inhibit any other user's enjoyment of the site" and I'm sure we can all see the problem here- that is a VERY subjective thing. Maybe people posting multiple idiotic "Am I showing at eight weeks?!?! Squeeee" threads or insisting on saying gender instead of sex after being politely correct is inhibiting my enjoyment of the site, but they won't get warned for it. There's a ton of grey area because it seems like sometimes you could get reported for saying something mildly off topic or rude, but then other more egregiously offensive comments are ignored.

Me too. I post on what I can to remain part of the community, but I have to steer clear of the dumb threads because I have no patience for the childish ways people respond to perfectly respectful, constructive criticism.
This board is so mild (boring) compared to my old bmb with dd. of course that was 2012 so maybe it was like the Wild West but there's nothing wrong with a little healthy discussion/ disagreement. It's a shame people feel so censored because of very vague guidelines. I haven't been warned but I am also very careful about being controversial because so many people have gotten in trouble... Facebook time anyone? :P

This exactly. I don't post on anything except puppies and rainbows. It's boring.

FTR, I got warned because on my Knitting thread someone posted something self-promoting their business. I got a warning for her post and then my whole Knitting thread was removed. I'm wondering if we should consider moving, either to Facebook or another forum.
I'm just so angry because I PLAY NICE. I really do. I seriously thought I would be one of the last bitches on this board to get a warning. It's BS.
This makes me sad. I finally found this board (thanks, Obama and more so mobile) and it's disappointing to hear that it's so censored. Back in the Nov 12 days it definitely was a fun place to hang out. Discussions, debates.... It's healthy!
Once it's been a bit I might be inclined to create a private forum but until then, I suppose I'll lurk and try to find out who the cool kids are.

Wtf how can you control what someone comments on your thread?! That makes no sense to get a warning for something you have no control over.
Exactly. That's why I'm so pissed. I thought about reporting that post myself, but was like I'm not gonna be the one.... I did say to myself when I read it that she will probably get in trouble for that post...
ETA: I never thought I would be the one to get in trouble for that post though...
Thing is, I don't know where I'd go if I left here. The site I was on for my last pregnancy is rife with anti-vax BS and I can't stand that, uh, stuff.
Uhhhmmm you should appeal that warning. Like, seriously, email them right now. You have zero control over what someone else posts on your thread. That's legitimately insane. I have seen them repeal warnings before, and there is a strong reason to do it this time too.
Why would you get a warning because another person posted something violating the terms? I would seriously protest that, it makes absolutely no sense. These terms of use are seriously, what is the phrase they use, hampering my enjoyment of the site?
I immediately replied to the Inbox that it wasn't my post. But I never heard back. Is there a better way to appeal?
ETA: I replied to the inbox again and tagged the BG this time. I said I wanted to appeal the warning because I didn't write the post I was being warned for.
