I caved and had 2 cups of coffee today after not going for over a week. I had two successful poops and it literally put me in a better mood and i feel immensely better.
I think you need Miralax, for a few days, until you poop. Colace is helpful for keeping the poop soft and easy to pass, but it won't help you to go. Once you get things moving you can probably just try taking colace.
Gosh I feel for you so badly right now. That's the worst feeling. I think all the PP's have given good advise. I will be sending good poopy thoughts you way.
I eat raisins. I'm not pooping as much as I should be for the amount of food I'm eating, so I will eat a handful of raisins, but thanks to the PP I might have a cup of coffee tomorrow!
Ohhh drink lots of but lots of water and eat only very small portions.. Drink cold milk and don't get hot bath.. Eat yogurt... Use olive oil maybe drink a spoon or if you can't use it with a tomato or a cucumber use it with something but you should def use a table spoon of olive oil.. And spend time at restroom sit try to relax have a book or your phone and sit at least with 20 min.. You can do massage to your lower abs to make them work faster, with inside of your right hand do it clockwise.. It always help me.. https://www.womenshealthmag.com/health/how-to-make-yourself-poop
Thanks all! I'm drinking over a gallon of water a day and skipped my prenatles. Tried greens and other foods that normally help. I thought about a cup of coffee but it makes me throw up :-/ I appreciate you all so much!
Oh good grief I was literally just coming in here to post the same thing. Have been skipping prenatals too, but was kind of afraid that colace would make me have to run to the bathroom with diarrhea (guess not though if it doesn't help the go). What about Milk of Mag? A friend suggested it earlier but I have no idea about how it's taken.

Try what some nurses call a brown cow-it's Milk of mag mixed with prune juice, not the most delicious but it's pretty effective. 100mg (1 capsule) of colace daily and drinking lots of water should help prevent future constipation. Fiber is good but consuming too much can over bulk your stool. Hope that helps
I've been craving beans but they make gas that is awful!! It's as if when I have too much fiber I have terrible gas and still don't go. If I'm not eating as much fiber I have less gas and still no relief....it's quite a conundrum. I've been drinking smoothies laced with prunes and prune juice, mangos, kale and lots of water, tried magnesium.....I finally caved and tried a couple colace last night as I couldn't sleep, which only provided a small BM. Hopefully this subsides with second trimester? Sorry for TMI, I'm only slightly worried. Seems very unhealthy to have more going on than coming out!!
My 7 year old son has had serious constipation issues since he was about 2. He takes a half cap full of Miralax every single day and it works miracles! Mind you if you've never taken it, it will take a few days to kick in. Just a note from having dealt with this for so long, eating fiber while constipated can actually make things worse. Eating lots of fiber once you are regular will help keep you regular but it can exacerbate the constipation if you eat too much.
It was 5 days for me too! Finally got Colace and it was like a dam was broken! Haven't stopped going for 3 days now! I'm not sure which is worse.... Good luck!
Ok, so Colace helped me when I hadn't gone for days. Then, Phillips Fiber Gummies, Walgreens Gummy Prenatals (don't have iron), and Activia have helped me stay regular.

I drink a glass of Metamucil every day. Works like a charm.
On a related note, if you take a fiber supplement and you are getting gas, try switching the type of fiber. I can't remember exactly what kind it is, but whatever they use in fiber one products makes me incredibly uncomfortable.
As a side note, milk of mag does no good if you have severe morning sickness (lets just say it's top of the list on things you don't want to up chuck ) I'm on 2 medicines to help me keep down water and they have me really constipated though. Looking forward to what my doctor says tomorrow.
Been drinking a glass of water with miralax every night with no luck. In the past 10 days I've pooped once (and it was so wonderful! Haha). Gave in and had a cup of coffee this morning - first in almost 6 weeks & it tasted so great. Hoping it gets things moving. Adding stool softeners tonight too. I've never been very regular, but it's usually only a day or so. Not DAYS like this! About 3 weeks ago I had a bad virus and couldn't stop pooping. Feast or famine haha
It helps to know this is somewhat normal though! I'll just keep working through the suggestions here until something happens. My poor husband is so sick of hearing me whine about poop!
This was actually one of my first red flags that I may be pregnant. I have NEVER had an issue going. I did't have coffee until I heard a heart beat and now I will have a cup every other day or so and it really helps me. The first cup I had let me go THREE times that day. I have never felt so amazing in my life. I hope you find some relief.
I have been constipated for two weeks now while on diclegis, but it hasn't helped with Ms at all so I stopped taking the pills last night. Tonight, I pooped! Tmi I know but feel soooo relieved
I'm in the same boat. Absolutely miserable. I ate a lot of vegetables until morning sickness kicked in, and now I hate the sight of them. So, less fiber in my diet and relaxed digestive tract and my husband is sick of listening to me complain about being constipated! I've tried moral ax and colace, but they barely make a difference. My clothes are tight and it's painful to sit or lay in any position. I bought prunes tonight! Something has to give!
