Chiropractor during pregnancy

i used to see a chiropractor all the time before I got pregnant but now I have been worried to go bc I feel like it will hurt my baby some how. The chiropractor I see says he has done his pregnant wife & she was only in labor for an hour! My obgyn says I am able to go to the chiropractor but I'm still have my fears & worries. Does any have any experience with this? Maybe it could help ease my mind?

I went throughout my last pregnancy every week and I have been going to the chiropractor again this time every week. There are lots of benefits of going during pregnancy, it helps with back, hip and joint pains, plus it can help reduce your time in labor. It also helps in keeping your hips in line for birth.

I've never seen one but I would go with what your OB says. However, labor for only an hour would scare me personally b/c I'd be afraid I wouldn't make it to the hospital!,

I went last pregnancy because I heard it helps with vbacs. It hurt so bad that I was terrified to go back.

I always feel a ton better after I get adjusted, and mine has helped my headaches considerably. I would still double check with your OB for peace of mind, but it is beneficial.

I have gone with each of my previous pregnancies and with this pregnancy as well. I wasn't concerned about the length of labor but the relief in my shoulders, back, and hips was amazing.

I go every other week for my scoliosis. I would not be able to function if I didn't.

Just make sure you get recommendations from people you trust to find someone. There are a lot of crazy people out there that give the good chiropractors a bad name. I trust people who use/believe in both conventional and natural medicine. If you are close minded about either, I don't consider you a reasonable person. There are benefits and downsides to both approaches and you have to use your critical thinking skills.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I have been thinking alot lately about calling my chiropractor. My tail bone hurts from sitting, i never had this before getting preggo.

I went with my son in the later months of pregnancy as per recommendation from my doula. I would say it was a good decision because I was able to have natural childbirth with a 10lb. baby!!!!!

I love my appointments. It has helped me so much with hip pain and overall aches. A good chiropractor should know what to do differently for pregnant women.

I go every week! It's been such a great help with headaches and backaches. They are trained to adjust pregnant women. Talk to your chiropractor if you are uncomfortable, they also know different techniques they may make you feel better.

I go weekly and LOVE it! As long as they know you're pregnant they can/will modify some of the things they do for you. It has really helped the round ligament pain, for me.
