Fever two weeks after delivery

I already talked to my dr, but has anyone had any experience with high fever two weeks post pardom? I had it Thursday and it went away after like 4 hours and now I have it again today...almost 105. It's starting to go down again. Weird? Dr said if it goes back up, go to the ER, and made an appointment for tomorrow morning.

    Did you have a vaginal or c section birth? I had a temp of 101+ after I came home from the hospital (c section) and they had me come back to the hospital and I was treated for an infection. I was in the hospital another 4 days on IV antibiotics.

    Oh hunny.. A fever that high reguardless of having a baby or having a flu, is extremely dangerous!
    That being said, since your postpartum, it is a dangerous sign. Not to go against your doctor, but I believe you should go to the ER anyways.

    I am 8 days postpartum and had a 102 fever yesterday. Saw the doctor right away today and it was mastitis. (Not sure if you are breastfeeding or not.) My clinic said a fever was a reason to go in right away since it means you are fighting some type of infection.

    I had a Csection and did get a fever last week for two days, it was about two weeks after baby. I did not go to doctor because they told me to only go if my temp went up to 104 or higher, i was at 102.7 at my highest. They said since i was breastfeeding it would be normal to get fevers but anything too high was sign of infection and to go to ER right away. The only thing i took was my pain pills every six hours since i was not feeling well. After those two days i felt fine again, well as well as possible i am still recovering from surgery. I hope you feel better soon but with a temp that high i would go to hospital, with a newborn baby feeling sick feels ten times worst than normal, at least I did.

    Please please go to the er now if you haven't already. a temp of 105 is very high you need medical attention

    Two weeks postpartum I got a 103 fever with body aches out of nowhere. I had a high fever for over 24 hours that ibuprofen wouldn't help. I did go to the doctor a couple hours after having the fever and turns out it was a kidney infection from an untreated UTI. I had vaginal birth. Basically I had been running low grade fevers on and off for two weeks and didn't realize it. Didn't even have a symptom of a UTI.

    I had a fever 2 weeks postpartum and it ended up being Mastitus. I'm not sure if you're breast feeding but mastitis is an infection of your milk ducts. You should call your doctor and get checked out!

    Saw the dr today... @mirrenrue that is exactly what I have. UTI that got into the kidneys. I thought I was so uncomfortable down there bc I pushed out a baby! Apparently, I should feel better soon. Thank God!

    I had a fever postpartum at 101.8 and was sent by my OB to the ER (it was after hours) and it turned out to be a UTI. So thankful I got the antibiotics too because I wasn't feeling symptoms when I went it but I definitely was a day or two later!!

    Same thing just happened to me so I'm glad you posted. I ended up having a uti. With those who had a uti are you really really sore down there? Almost feels like bruising or is that something unrelated to uti.

    @julesgulia I was sore there. For awhile I thought it was just bc of my small incision (I had internal tear).

    Just started antibiotics for mastitis... Ugh. I hope it improves quickly.

    @julesgulia I was sore and had a ton of pressure and it did burn a bit when I peed but I was using the peri bottle so I didn't really notice it.

    Anybody have body aches with all this? I'm having horrible aches that are flu like and took my temp earlier and it was 99.8. Also have a headache and just feeling crappy. :-<

    @puffballs99 yes. I called the advice line and was prescribed antibiotics because I developed a fever/chills and felt generally weak along with the pain in the breast.
