Re: Healthy Mama Check-in week of 8/3

  • 1. 10 weeks pp
    2. Yoga and walking
    3. 30-45 minutes of yoga 6 days this week; aim for veggies in every meal!
    4. The heat is definitely a challenge for walking so I am sticking with yoga until the weather improves. I'm excited that I am able to hold plank for a minute and get into savasana without feeling like my c/s incision is being ripped in half :D
    5. Old school Madonna or Janet Jackson, throw some Maroon 5 in there...
  • Loading the player...
  • 1. 10 weeks pp
    2. Just been doing long walks up until now
    3. Planning to make my first gym visit this week (maybe today!) and want to try out a local stroller strides workout, too. That one will be weather - dependant.
    4. LO and I have gotten into a better routine so feeling good about the possibility of getting back into working out! I thought about it last week but it was way too hot out and she kept me busy with a bunch of doctor's appointments.
    5. Definitely pop like Ke$ha and pitbull

    1. 8 weeks pp
    2. I've been going for lots of walks and trying to fit in some toning workouts. I use the ones from toneitup.com - quick and effective.
    3. Weekly goal: Walk at least 5 times (2-3 miles), toning/HIIT/yoga workouts 3-4 times.
    4. The weather has been great here, so walking hasn't been a problem because I can take LO, but finding time to do other types of workouts is difficult.
    5. I'm all over the place with workout music. Rock to rap - anything upbeat to get me moving.

    Have a good week, mamas!

  • 1. 8 weeks pp

    2. I'm in resting mode. I was walking 3.5 miles 5-6 days a week. And I went for one 3.5 mile run. But my bleeding came back with a vengeance, so I'm taking it as a sign to back off. Thing is, I felt/feel great, so I'm kinda bummed about the bleeding.

    3. Weekly goal: heal up so I can feel confident about getting started again.

    4. Challenges: my mom really like walking with me and the babes, and she'll want me to walk with her.

    5. I love music (Zac Brown Band is my fave), but I don't use music when I workout.
  • 1. 8 weeks pp

    2. Trying to get in a work out video daily. I also have a hula hoop with 3 pounds of sand. I used to hula for 30-35 minutes. I've worked my way up to 20. On Saturday, I did crunches, push ups, and planks. I'm still sore. Haven't been walking/jogging much because it's so hot where I am!

    3. Challenges: the heat, my baby hating naps, and just bring tired.

    4. I'm also all over the place when it comes to work out music. Has to be upbeat though!
  • 1. 6 weeks pp
    2. Walking, yoga, bike and hopefully running
    3. Run for the first time pp, bike 2x, yoga 3x
    4. Heat (been in the 90s here), lack of sleep, having 2 kids
    5. I don't use music when I work out except occasionally when on the stationery bike. Then, anything upbeat.
  • 1. 6 weeks pp
    2. Walking with LO in the carrier and elliptical
    3. Run for the first time pp (hopefully I'll be cleared at my appt wednesday!) and eat healthier-its hard to remember that I don't have the whole "pregnancy" excuse to fall back on for eating a little extra. I need to get the Ben and Jerry's out of my house, haha.
    4. Running will be a challenge because I will only be able to do it when DH is home-so early morning or night time. It will be hard to get motivated to leave the house during these times as they are usually when tiredness hits me most!
    5. I am all over the place on workout music-Glee and Rent, super trashy rap, pop, and rock (Down with the Sickness by Disturbed is my ultimate running jam).

  • 1. Weeks post partum. 6 weeks
    2. Types of workouts. Was cleared to start walking again per my ortho--I've been using a wheelchair since being diagnosed with diastasis of pubic symphysis after the birth. She told me to use a walker at first, for about 2 weeks, but my workplace wants me to be able to walk without the walker, so I'm hoping I can do that safely soon. Today I'm trying short walks, need to build up stamina
    3. Goals for the week. Return to work! Physically I want to be able to carry my therapy bag, and walk short distances with and without the walker
    4. Accomplishments/ challenges -made it to 6 weeks which is a major accomplishment! Pelvis is somewhat healed but not completely. I still weigh a hundred and ninety some pounds...I wish I could shed some of this weight, which would probably make walking easier.

  • Wishing you a speedy recovery @423ang !

  • 1. 7 weeks pp
    2. Yoga and TRX
    3. Goals - Start cooking dinners again (I've been so tired and it's really challenging to juggle two kids & make dinner, so we've been eating out A LOT, which is usually not very healthy. Other goals -2 sessions of yoga and one or two TRX workouts
    4. Challenges - LO not having a set napping schedule, so I really can't plan/anticipate my workouts. DH gets home late most nights, so I'm too exhausted to attempt workouts then. Also -- none of my workout clothes fit correctly right now
    5. Music - I need upbeat stuff - Nicki Minaj, Major Lazer. Anything with a good beat.

    Challenge: Sports bra.

Moving Comfort Juno Bra. I can run with mastitis. I'm not of course as I have to rest and heal but I really want to.

    1. 10 weeks
    2. Swimming and Biking
    3. Add back some core & pilates
    4. Mastitis Saturday so I really should take the whole week of but I am really missing the little bit of time I get to exercise. And of course two little kids, no time, and being back at work.
    5. Right now its okee dokee brothers to keep the boys happy so I can workout, sadly its not longer about keeping me happy.

My real goal was to start running but it I run I seem to get mastitis. That's on hold again. Perhaps next week.

  • 1. 9.5 weeks, post csection.
    2. Piyo, elliptical and walking.
    3. Making time, pushing myself for workouts.
    4. Frustrated. I lost 40 lbs as if six weeks. I have stopped losing any more weight or inches since then. I wanted to be a little less by now. It is just frustrating.
    5. I love pop and rap!
  • 1. 6 weeks...Sunday will be 7. Just cleared to work out last Wednesday.

    2. Elliptical, yoga, pilates, kettle bell lifting, all at home for now

    3. I wanted to do yoga, pilates, and kettle bells twice each this week (they are all about 20-30 minute routines) and elliptical for at least 30 minutes 5 times.

    4. LO was an overtired disaster on Monday and Tuesday so I didn't get any workouts in. Sunday I did do yoga and 45 minutes on the elliptical while DH took her. Yesterday I was able to do pilates at nap time and 30 minutes on the elliptical when DH came home from work. So far today she's pretty cranky but I did get kettle bells in. Hoping to get on the elliptical again tonight. Biggest hurdle right now is LOs mood on any given day and the fact that we have no schedule yet. 5lbs of pregnancy weight left to lose and also 5lbs of "i just went off birth control after my wedding" weight from pre pregnancy I'd like to take care of.

    5. We have a sonos speaker in the gym so I usually put the today's hits station on Pandora and let er rip.
  • 1. 5 weeks PP

2.walking 45 mins a day wearing LO and bringing the dogs-

    3. Not weigh myself. I was enjoying the first three weeks watching the weight fly off. And I think because I'm breastfeeding that it should still keep coming off just as fast and I've plateaued at the same number for the last two weeks.

    4. Prepped egg white and turkey sausage muffins on Sunday for the week so eating a quick and easy breakfast has been helpful. Challenge- hubby keeps making rice Krispy treats when I go to bed so when I wake up to pump I'm choking down on them.

    5. I like to call someone when I walk or just listen to nature/ talk to LO or my dogs.
  • 1. Weeks post partum
    6 weeks

    2. Types of workouts
    Just walking at the moment.

    3. Goals for the week
To clean out SO closet and give all the unwanted clothes to charity

    4. Accomplishments/ challenges
Challenges - one of my tears didn't heal
Accomplishment- I'm not sure I have one
