Any signs (possible trigger)

I have read many threads where little one has stopped growing. That's frightening. I have had one us at 6 weeks every thing was good. I don't get another until 20wks. Is there any symptoms you may experience when little one stops growing? I'm a worrying Nancy and was just wondering

Re: Any signs (possible trigger)

  • When I had my mmc, my symptoms kind of tapered off. I remember telling my mom I actually felt like a human again, well it was because baby had passed. :( also, in comparison to my other 2 pregnancies, I actually had symptoms to begin with and just felt uneasy for no reason, even though we had a good us at 9 weeks. Turns out my intuition knew what was up.

  • I dont have any experiences to help with this because all 3 of my miscarriages happened before the 6 week mark... but I have to say that with my youngest I was a basket case and had mild anxiety issues until I could feel him move because I was terrified that something would happen. I remember having an anxiety attack in my kitchen because I just knew something was wrong... my fear and anxiety got the best of me and thank god he is perfectly healthy.

  • For me, my sign was spotting red blood, and cramping. My body didn't want to let go and it happened a couple weeks after the baby had passed. Other than that I felt pregnant, sadly.
  • I lost all my symptoms, and i thought i was just feeling better, 2 weeks later i had a dating u/s at like 10 and a half weeks, found out baby was measuring 8 and a half weeks with no hb. I actually lost the baby like 2 weeks later 4 days before my scheduled dnc.
My other mc i lost before 6 weeks and i started spotting on a monday and lost the baby friday.
  • I don't think you'd find this comforting, but with my missed miscarriage I still had my pregnancy symptoms, even after I knew my baby had died and I was just waiting for the miscarriage to happen naturally. I had two or three times of very minimal pink spotting, but otherwise I thought everything was ok.

I don't have any experience to add because this is my first pregnancy but I have the same fears. My last ultrasound was 12w2d and everything was great but my next one isn't until 16w (I'm 14w3d now) and even though I'm pretty far along, I'm so worried I'll lay down and they'll tell me something bad.
I haven't had many pregnancy symptoms in general besides the fact that my chest was super sore but that's died down now ... but it's supposed to have because I'm past 14weeks but it's soo nerve wracking so I understand where you're coming from. Best we can do is try to put that to the back of our minds for our baby's sake and enjoy as much as we can until we can start feeling them move.

  • According to my Dr, whom I was seeing when I had my missed miscarriage, symptoms and blood levels are still high even when baby stops growing. You wouldn't really know until you had another US, or a doppler to hear the heart beat, unfortunately. The only other sign for a regular miscarriage would be the bleeding and cramping. I understand being nervous. In that boat too!
  • @babymakes8ofus and the other ladies, *hugs*

The tough thing is that you really can't know. You can suspect and wonder and worry... but not know.

I had spotting and cramping. I had sudden loss of pregnancy symptoms at 10 weeks - ish. But no miscarriage thank god.

This may not bring you confort but it did help me a little with my worrying - I reminded myself that miscarriages are generally NOT because of something Mom did or didn't do. And even if you were to know at the earliest possibly opportunity, there isn't much that can be done. Rest and lifting restrictions are done out of precaution. .. I have read there is no evidence saying that it actually helps.

I too find the missed miscarriage stories especially heartbreaking. It seems like such a cruel thing.

If you have seen a heartbeat that is a very positive sign... Imagine how much complex development work has already occurred for a baby's heart to beat. You will get through this.
  • I had a mmc btwn 6-7 weeks...only sign was really light brown spotting an hour before I had my ultrasound at 10 weeks where they saw it stopped growing and had no heartbeat...The spotting progressed to slightly heavier bleeding before I had my D&E a couple days later. This pregnancy, I've been so scared before each ultrasound (i've had 2 so far at 10 & 12 weeks). I'm sorry...I know this doesn't make you feel any better. Most people have signs eventually and I'm sure everything is going just fine for you.
  • Im going to reply to this with what I noticed for myself BUT if you are worried call your doctor, if they are nice they might let you come In and hear the hb! I did this many times with dd!!
Everyone is different!!! Sooooo very different so you cannot read these and compare yourself to them.
Example: Remember some women never throw up once during pregnancy and some women throw up the whole time with the end result being a healthy 7lb baby....

I didn't think there were signs when I had my loss in 2013 but after I got pregnant with dd and I was super sick, dizzy, and lots of pregnancy symptoms I realize the only thing I had was lots of headaches! I had severe headaches all of the time.
We went in between 8-9 weeks for pain on my lower side and they couldn't figure anything out, we did an us and saw no hb.... They never did anything else with the pain because we got distracted with the missed mc.
It ended up being ovarian cysts- which didn't cause the mc they were very small then
