Fruits and veggies,,,, the baby rice I tried seemed really sweet and I wasn't sure about giving her oats/ porridge as a lot of people think oats contain gluten and therefore babies shouldn't have them yet,,, ideas?? She loved puréed peas!!
Bananas, peaches, nectarines, apples, green beans, peas, squash, zuccini, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, plums, carrots, avocado. I am sure some that I am missing some but he loves them all . I make them homemade with all organic fruits and veggies.
I just give the baby whatever we're having (with the exception of eggs--which he tested allergic to--and honey, which is not to be given to children under 1 year). He's loved everything so far.
Also, forgot to say that we avoid leafy greens because our first child found them very tricky to swallow until much later. Anything else we either give him whole or bite/chop into pieces small enough that he can swallow them without trouble.
Baby is eating oat cereal, peaches, plums, banana, pear, apple, green beans, peas, sweet potato, carrots, celery, and for the last couple of days chicken soup (just pureed chicken carrots and celery). Next few weeks will be trying fish, veal, asparagus, broccoli, beats, brown rice and wheat cereal. What I can I make myself.
How do you make your baby food? I want to do it and have tried it a couple of time but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. After you steam the hell out of it do you just mash/purée or do you strain too? Do you boil? Do you freeze? How long does it keep? I heard only for like a week but that seemed very short to me especially since it's frozen.
The primary source of vitamins for a newborn baby is breast milk or formula from birth to 1-year old. Every baby is different. My son just turned six months and he doesn't have any teeth yet!
