Symptoms Thread

I havnt seen one for today and I honestly.. I actually have a symptoms questions. Is anyone else having frequent dizzy spells? I have read its normal, especially around the turn of the first trimester but I dont remember it this frequently with my first 2. I have thought about running it past my OB (or NP) but figured I would see if its common around here first? TIA and feel free to post your symptoms, questions and complaints!

  • I get dizzy spells and got them a lot with my last pregnancy too. Mine are partially from low bp and then I get sidetracked about eating and I get light headed. Sometimes I see stars and have to sit down til I can see.

I'm so tired. And so sick of not wanting to eat in the evenings.

I'm not dizzy often unless I didn't eat enough, but I hear it's definitely common. I'm kind of freaking out today because I spotted dark brown after a hilly walk this afternoon after having exercised a lot this week. I know it's old blood, but I haven't had spotting in several weeks (13 weeks today), and before my spotting was way lighter in color and mixed with cm. I'm really really antsy to get home and check on my bub's heartbeat! I just saw my OB yesterday, too, and all was good then and at my NT scan, but this has still totally thrown me off. Ps! [-O<

Update: Yay, strong heartbeat when I finally got to check! Phewf! And no more spotting (knock on wood). Time to relax. Thanks for the positive thoughts, ladies.

  • @Aussiechicka Okay, I'm like that too and mainly when I get up fast or turn around fast... I'm hydrated and eat plenty. Hopefully it'll pass soon.

@PaniaO Oh no, maybe you should lay low for a bit and relax with your feet up. I'm sure everything is perfectly fine and you'll feel better once you hear the heartbeat.

  • @thebeggsbunch - No dizziness yet, but I know it's pretty common.  My friend had it with her last pregnancy right around the turn of the 1st trimester, and she was perfectly healthy otherwise. I think it's just normal.

My head hurts.  This is hormonal but in an offbeat way.  On my lunch break, my doctor's office called and said they needed to reschedule my Monday appointment and nothing was available till September.  I flipped out in a restaurant, crying and all, told the woman I am pregnant and practically demanded to be seen, yadda yadda.  So embarrassing.  Turns out some newbie messed up the schedule and my appointment was never cancelled, so all for nothing, but the crying gave me a headache.  I'm ready for Friday to be over.  Also, acid reflux came back.  Great.

@TheBeggsBunch I've been dizzy this past week (13wks 2d today) and I've been eating plenty!
I also get out of breath easily if I go up the stairs too quickly or try to be a little more active. :(

  • Too much gas in my stomach! OMG! Couldn't eat well or sleep well. Always feel full. I only know I'm hungry when I start dry heaving. Yet I still couldn't put much food down since I feel so full. Try walking, doesn't work. Try Gas X, doesn't work.
  • Thanks @TheBeggsBunch TGIF. Time to chill! Hope you feel better soon, too!

  • I've been having a ton of dizzy spells. I've always gotten orthostasis when I stand up too fast due to low BP, and it's definitely been more frequent now. Total PITA.

@PaniaO Sending lots of positive thoughts your way! Take it easy this weekend!
  • @TheBeggsBunch I have been a bit dizzy. I thought I was going down last Saturday. It's nervenwrecking
  • @acuteangles Oh crap, did they fit you in before September?

@ss456 Ok, thank you. Yes. I have been getting short of breath too and have been feeling like I need to start walking more... But then I'm out of breath and have to pee. Bad combo. Meh.

@Jilmce19 I've wondered if it's my BP too. I don't think my iron would be low so that would be it... My BP is usually always awesome.

@strlitemiss I have had to sit back down really quick with the same feeling... It's kind of scary. I know it's normal to an extent but I don't want to shrug off a warning, ya know?

  • I can't sleep!!!! :-S no matter what position, I'm uncomfortable. Investing in a body pillow next week. I pray it helps! It's too early for these shenanigans!!! [-O<
  • @TheBeggsBunch I have been really lightheaded and seeing starts the past couple of days. I remember this and dizzy spells last pregnancy too.
  • RLP is my enemy when I stand up to fast. Dizziness and headaches have begun to plague me too so I have decided to take it slow and not push myself. I take the time to get up out of the chair at work or even out of the car I'm in no rush. It's frustrating but it seems to help.
  • Dizziness/lightheaded mainly when I'm in the shower. Even with cooler water.
Headaches are more frequent, even with caffeine.
I dry heave or heave up bile when I even start to get hungry and it's a PITA! I'm trying to eat as much as possible, but I just get full so easy! Whine rant over... For now :D

  • Thanks yall for making me feel better!

This has been going on with me the last 2 weeks and it sucks. I have a cheap body pillow... Let me know if you get a preggo pillow and how it works!

I got the snoogle as recommended by others on the board and the first night I got I had the best sleep of my life. Slept through almost the whole night not having to get up constantly to go pee or change positions! It screws my H up though because my dog can't lay with me and now crowds his side :)

  • I am almost 12 weeks. I have had some mild nausea, but nothing big until yesterday when I woke up and started violently dry heaving. Today the same thing with less warning. Unfortunately, today's timing matched up with really having to pee. I couldn't control either end. Very messy and embarrassing.
  • @tboslet I may have to look into that since I'm already having problems at 12 weeks! Thanks!

@Vkrosa I sneezed this morning and about cried at the sharp RLP that came after.

@hopes4baby Oh gosh, I'm sorry. I have peed on myself so many times, especially late pregnant when you cough, sneeze and laugh. Just wait... Once baby is born you'll have to cross your legs when you sneeze. Or at least I do. :-SS

  • Yeah! I've been really really dizzy I even fainted in the bank the other day! (How embarrassing!) then was sick ! Went to the docs and he said it's completely normal in pregnancy, we are going through lots at the moment with our bodies! Sometimes if it's a bit hotter than usual or the air is close, you can feel dizzy and sometimes faint!
I am 11 nearly 12 weeks ! I am in the same boat!
  • On Friday, I was in the shower and felt a loud pop in the back of my neck, then pain came on instantly and it's painful to move my neck. I figured I'd give it a couple of days to heal; but the pain has not subsided. I can't lift my head up or turn side to side. I'm just hoping this is just a muscle pull and nothing else!
