I just found out I am high risk due to having SSA antibodies which can cause a fetal heart block. I have to be monitored every week starting at 16 weeks, in addition to my normal appointments. This is my first baby so feeling extra stressed.
If you are high rrisk, are you telling work? How do you tell them? I'm a little nervous to tell work how many appointments I will be out for. Have you worked out a work from home schedule for additional rest (if you're not on bed rest)?

FMLA only approved me for 8 weeks. Luckily my job was willing to work with me. I also had weekly ultrasounds so having to miss work that often wouldn't have worked out anyway given I managed retail at the time and the schedule was not flexible.
I think it's important to be upfront and honest with your boss and let them know that this wasn't in the plans for you, you're very nervous yet your job still remains a priority to you and you will do your best to keep your commitment to the company.
