had contractions all day from about 11am to about 6pm. they came at sporadic times with different lengths and intensities.. finally started getting more intense and then eventually tapered off... BUMMER! I was excited for baby to come and went through all that pain for nothin :P how many other mamas have been going through this lately?! how long has this been going on for you? share your experiences here! interested to see how it is for others

Having this legit right now! I just keep looking at my husband and going "I don't know anything!' Because Im convinced IM going to have the baby on the living room floor because I won't know what's real and what's not

On Thursday of last week I had a false alarm. I walked and walked, so when I went to my doc app on Thursday I was 5cmwith 4 contractions in less than 5 min. Had a c section that night. In hospital now.

Had that happen Monday and Tuesday for solid 4 or 5 hours. Then nothing ever since. Dr. even said I still haven't dilated more. Frustrating! Scheduled for induction wednesday.

I've had false labor every night for the last week. They'll be strong and consistent, but still far enough apart that I know it's not quite go time. As soon as I start to think its the real thing, they stop. And then baby wakes up and has a party for another hour or two!

This happened to me Wednesday. Contractions all day long but nothing consistent or timeable. Then I had 2 back to back that were very painful. Thought it might be time and then nothing. They just stopped. Had cramping all afternoon today and then nothing. Maybe a total of 4 contractions all day. I am so over this!

I was up Wednesday night for four hours or so with timeable regular contractions. But they never built up in intensity too much. I am not quite 37 weeks though so I freaked out and went to bed. I figured if I could sleep through it then it wouldn't be the real thing! I would like to keep this one in a another week or so!

I'm 40wk 2d and had irregular contractions allllll day yesterday. Thought maybe something was happening then just woke up now super nauseous and dizzy with no pain or contractions. Wtf, body, wtf?!?

Thinking it might be time to go get monitored. Contractions from last night haven't really petered out. They are deff not what I would call strong or super painful but they are deff there and consistent. Trying to let my hubs sleep a little longer before I make up my mind.

@nakoppel geeez I'm sorry :-( this really sucks all this pain and it's not even the real thing. I think I'm just gonna wait it out like I did yesterday. I have a gut feeling it's still not the real deal. although they did start out more intense than yesterday's contractions

This happened to me a few nights ago. Mild Contractions every 10 min all night, couldn't really sleep. Made appt in the morning, got monitored and checked 2cm and soft with bloody show. My midwife said that it could be early labor or false labor. Gave me a prescription for a pill that would "knock out false labor" or help me sleep if it's the real deal. Needless to say after 2 doses my contractions are now very irregular, I have a lot of lower abd/crotch pressure and just feel exhausted! I'm over it!

now I just have a constant aching in my lower belly and lower back kinda like bad period pains. I have no idea how to get rid of it. I don't think it's contractions since it's constantly painful but the pain does spike every few minutes. I really don't wanna go to L&D and get monitored and sent home ughhh~~

I started with bad back pain last night. Woke up this morning around 4 and finally realized/believed that I was having contractions around 430. There isn't a pattern yet. Usually have one about every 9 min or so, not long length. But I slept through the last 2 hours or so, so not sure yet if anything will progress or not. It's just a more painful period type cramp right now with the tightening. But I've never been so excited to see a bloody show/ mucous plug come out of my vagina about 15 min ago lol. This baby has already made me wait 4 extra days. Hoping he comes soon!

@deviduke412 that's how mine feel! sorry you're overdue hope he comes soon for u:) mine went away again after about an hour this morning and I was able to go back to sleep. these contractions are a mind game lol

Story of life right now (and pretty much the whole third trimester). Contractions are pretty much a daily thing for me, and range anywhere from a light camping feeling to a doubling over pain-sometimes timeable, sometimes not. My midwives are aware, but we aren't concerned. I had the same experience with DS. My hubby just looks at me and reminds me to let him know when it is time for him to do something about them.

It would be nice if contractions meant labor ALWAYS, but that would just make it too easy.
