Sebastian?

So, I'm 36 Weeks and we've been between the names Miles and Silas pretty much the whole time. I feel no closer to choosing and decided last night I'd like to throw Sebastian into the running. It's a bit high on the popularity ranking for me (34 maybe), but I've never actually met a Sebastian. So, just wondering if others encounter this name much. Is it popular?

I've met a lot of Silas' and heard a couple of Miles' but never a Sebastian. I love that name. Super cute! I actually love all three and threw those out as a possibility but my husband is picky lol. Good luck!

I wouldn't say it's overly popular where I live. I know two Sebastians, both about age 12. Both go by Seb, if that helps.

Reminds me too much of the little mermaid, not that it's a bad thing, I love Disney movies. There's also a beach town by me called Sebastian as well. I love Silas though!

I went to high school with a Sebastian. Sweet guy! I only had a couple class with him but when I saw him a few years after graduation he recognized me, so now that's in my mind when I hear the name. I love it, it was on my long list of names.

Thing about Sebastian, though, is that we all called him Sea Bass for short. Like the fish, sea bass. I know some parents are concerned about potential nicknames associated with a given name

Since Justin Timberlake named his son Silas I feel it may become extremely popular if thst were to help. I truly love the name Sebastian though, I have a friend I've worked with for years and he is truly the sweetest and kindness man I think I've ever met, so that's my choice! He'll definitely be a true gentlemen with that name

I know one five year old named Sebastian, but I work in a field where I meet a TON of kids and he's the only one I've ever met. I love the name!

This is totally my fear. I've liked the name for years but afraid it's going to seem trendy to use it right after Justin Timberlake. Damn him.

Haha this makes me laugh. Wasn't it Dumb and Dumber where they get into a fight with a trucker or something named Sea Bass? I just remember, "kick his ass, sea bass!"

Nicknames with Sebastian are a little harder. We tossed out Bass and Bastian. I'm sure we'd come up with random other nicknames in our family, but I also think it's one of those names where you tend to just go by the full name.

The only Sebastian I have meet went by Sea-Bass. I don't think he choose that nickname, it just happened. But Seb for short is really cute. I also really like it for a middle name option.

This was our fear if we were having a boy. We were going to name him Drake and we were concerned that it'll get popular because of that so called rapper.

OP I like Sebastian. I have a friend who named her son Sebastian and they call him Seba.

I know a few Miles', no Silas' and I had a teacher in high school named Sebastian, he was a tech teacher, played the guitar.. actually taught a class on how to build one, nice guy, super smart. Silas will probably be very trendy soon and I think Miles already is atleast in my area. I'd go with Sebastian and Silas would be my runner up mostly because I know quite a few Miles/Myles but all of them are good names

Nothing wrong with having the short list and waiting until you meet baby to decide.

I thought I saw Silas as a top 10 name in popularity this year. My friend just named her baby Silas.

I like both Miles and Sebastian. I've never met a Miles but I've met many Sebastians as the name is a popular Latino name.

My stepson was begging us to name the new baby Sebastian because of some cartoon. My SO was not hot on it so we picked something else.
