  The percentile is just there estimation. They won't know the real percentile until she is born. She still has time to grow. I personally wouldn't worry about it. I had a friend that's baby was 2 weeks behing in growth. He is perfectly fine. If the doctors don't take it as a concern than I wouldn't worry about it , easier said than done I know. If anything call your doctors tommarow and ask more questions. Everything will be okay

  What did your doctor say? Are you going back for growth scans, is he not concerned? I would tall to your OB for clarification, and then take your cue from him. You still have 13 weeks where baby is really just growing and packing on fat.

  I agree with @ash413 what did your R say? Is there a concern of IUGR? Are they doing a repeat growth scan? As far as percentiles they are an estimation unless there is a trend of decreased growth typically it's not time to freak out.

  All a 15th percentile means is that out of 100 babies the exact same age, your baby is smaller than 85 of them at the moment.

  This by itself is not a problem. There are lots of reasons this could be the case. If you and her dad are both on the shorter side, it could simply be genetics. It could also mean that most of the babies she is compared too have had a growth spurt very recently and she hasn't had one to catch up yet.

  As PP have said, don't worry about it if your doctor isn't worrying. If her percentile keeps getting smaller, or there are other things affecting the baby's growth, that is when it's time to worry. I'm sure she'll be fine though.

  My doctor told me that anything over 10th percentile is nothing to worry about!

  Just adding support and agree with PPs.  My LO was in the lower percentiles at my 20 weeks scan (you can search for my post, I was freaking out a bit).  I had a growth scan 4 weeks later and everything was on track.  My docs exact words: "The chances of you having a big baby are slim, but you're not going to have a tiny baby either."  So in other words, average.  The percentile thing bothers me too, it's hard not to compare and worry.  I think that is why some docs don't even mention it.

  15th percentile is still within normal limits. Under 10th or over 90th are considered abnormal but even then, most infants are perfectly fine. Sounds like you are in good shape at this point.

  Im 26 yrs old and probably still smaller than 85% of all other humans; and I do just fine. Dont stress over it.

  Call and request a growth scan for your next visit. Make sure they also check the blood flow to your baby. Your baby is doing just fine now and you want to make sure that it stays that way.

  I'm measuring in the 97th percentile for my son so I'm feel you worries. I've been scheduled for another sonogram at 30 weeks. Wish you the best

  The way I look at it is that SOMEONE has to be at the 15th percentile for the curve to even work. I wouldn't worry unless your doctor tells you to worry.

  Me too!!! Lol I was born and labelled failure to thrive, 4th percentile due to the fact my biological mother was an alcoholic throughout her entire pregnancy with me. I clearly thrived and as long as baby continues to grow, even on their own growth rate they will be fine!!! My story is so not the same as op's but I thought I'd share mine anyways

  My son was measuring the 12-16th% for my entire pregnancy.  He was the size of a 33 weeker when he was born at 35 weeks but he was perfectly healthy.  He is just a small kid.  Still is and he's almost 5.  Try not to worry about it too much.

  My doctor never did percentiles. When my 1st son was born he was in the 5th percentile and stayed in the 5-10th percentile for a while.. He was fine just on the small size.

  My story is even better! My mom actually took medication to induce an abortion because she did not want to be pregnant again. My older brother was born handicapped because of complications so she was set on not having any more kids. After multiple attemps to get me out of there with old remedies she gave up and figured I was probably going to have issues too from all the stuff she took. Here I am 26 years later, perfectly healthy my whole life. Worst Ive ever been sick was getting chicken pox. Go figure!
