Flu- Like Symptoms. Severe Back Pain

Holy back pain! I ran errands and shopped for a long time yesterday to get ready for the baby shower this weekend. I woke up this morning and could not get out of bed. I have been taking Tylenol regularly and drinking water all day today. Eating minimally, because the severe achy pain makes me nauseous. I took a shower( actually I sat on the shower floor until the hot water aimed at my back ran out. Hubby has been rubbing on me since he has been home, but the pain is worse than this morning.

Any insight about this? Anyone have experience with it? I feel better even just telling you all about it!

    What other flu like symptoms? For me I have to really watch for headaches, chills, and fevers because I was exposed to a kiddo who has CMV and those symptoms could be an indicator that the virus is active. Definitely not saying this is what yours sounds like! Most people actually have immunity to this, I just have zero exposure and zero immunity to it.

    Could be just stress related/tiring yourself out. You said you were getting ready for your baby shower, it could be your body saying to slow down. But if you do spike a fever and it sticks around, I would call the doctor and go in just to get checked out.

    It's not coming and going, like back labor, right? It is probably your body just telling you to take it easy. Relax, drink fluids, and hopefully you feel better in the morning!

    Yeah that was my first thought...Apparently sometimes what you describe can be symptoms of early labor, but like PP said I think you would notice a rhythm or coming and going if it was back labor. I just remember "flu-like symptoms" to be one potential sign of early labor. Of course you could also have....the flu! I hate how everything in pregnancy seems to be like this- "it could be totally normal, or a sign of something!!" How helpful ;) Hope you feel better soon....most likely just wore yourself out. Rest up! :)

    Peeing a lot, or pain with peeing? Could be a kidney infection, can be pretty serious, call your OB

    A couple weekends ago my family was visiting and we were up and walking ALL day and actually did a hike here in Hawaii. The next day I had the worst backache. I was so miserable I just cried. I could get out of bed even though laying in bed hurt too. But what are the other flu like symptoms you're having?

    Thanks everybody! I woke up today and it is still aching, but not as intense as yesterday. I thought it may be dehydration, it makes the whole body hurt...need relief soon. I'm going to give it another 2 hours and call the doc. I will keep you posted.

    Symptoms:severe back and leg pain, heavy head, sore throat(may be due to intense acid reflux), loss of appetite

    Dr. Diagnosis is a throat and bladder infection. He gave me amoxicillin-schedule b drug(thought to have no harm). The pain has already subsided(thank God). I think I was dehydrated, too. That would explain more of the overall achiness. Thanks for all your help! I never know if my discomfort is legit or just me being a baby :)

    I was laid up in the hospital for three days to pass kidney stones. I was going to say it sounded like my back pain prior to gong in. So glad it's not that for you and that you went into your ob to check. Sometimes that's the best thing to do just to make sure everything is good.
