Pregnancy and previous abdominal surgery scars?

Hi all, this is my second pregnancy and I'll be 30 wks tomorrow. I've noticed this time around my belly is the only thing getting big, but that is also a problem.

I'm 32, and have had two abdominal surgeries in my life. One was an appendix removal due to intussuception when I was 3 and more recently an exploratory laparoscopy for endometriosis and pcos when I was 23. The first surgery resulted in 6 stitches, but as I was only 3 at the time, it's now a pretty long scar right under my belt button. The second surgery, they did two very small incisions, one in my lower pelvis and one through my belly button. Since that one, my belly button is not deep.

I'm finding as I get bigger, the scar where they went through my belly button is stretching and hurts. My Dr took a look and said that I have scar tissue that is pulling and because my belly will only get bigger, there's not much I can do.

I'm finding that I only find relief sitting up, swimming in the pool, or wearing my belly band when standing. Tylenol only does so much. Even my shirt touching my skin above my belly button kills.

Anyone else have this issue? Any other remedies?

Ouch! I had my belly button pierced as a teenager and had to remove it because of a keloid. The scar tissue doesn't stretch like skin. It was hurting me a few weeks ago and nothing helped. I think the only reason it stopped is because my weight gain has tapered off. Sorry for your pain.

I had my gall bladder removed 4 years ago and was left with four small (1 inch) scars. As my belly grew, One of them stretched and eventually cracked and made a scab. I'm not dilligent about lotion so that may have helped, had I done it. It's healed now, the scar is just a little darker than it was originally.
