Thursday randoms

hello everyone! My baby has been in the hospital since birth (3 weeks today) and will be home Friday night or Saturday morning and I am so excited. It's been a long 3 weeks first not knowing if he was going to be ok and then having to wait for his treatment to finish. We spend everyday with him but it's been so hard leaving him at night. I will be so happy to have him home where he belongs.

Let's hear your randoms for today!

Re: Thursday randoms

  • Nothing exciting here! But @handree my heart smiles at the thought of you bringing home your little one. God bless!

  • @handree So happy for you. That is so wonderful!!
  • I'm still pregnant!! 41 weeks today :(( I also have Bell's Palsy and just feel really beat down. So beyond ready to meet our baby boy.
  • My random is that I'm 8 days post partum and feeling much better. I decided to walk up to the nearby grocery store which is maybe a 15-20 minute walk round trip. I seriously was wondering if I'd have to call for a ride home, my uterus/stomach area was so sore! I made it back but I definitely need more rest for now.
  • Our little girl broke out with "newborn rash" all over her face this week. Supposedly not painful and no treatment but I feel so bad it's all over...even her eyelids. We also had our first day to ourselves as a family in a month. It's so quiet and wonderful :)
  • @Handree I am so happy for you and your LO!

Random for today: Took baby girl out today to lunch with my mom, sister and nephew and she hated being in the carseat for that long! First time she had been out of the house that long..only has been to the doctor and back home. I am going to have to get a carrier if I want to go out again so she can be close to me and happy! Love that spoiled little Princess so much, it is crazy the love you feel for something so small and amazing! :)
  • @rachellemons do u breastfeed? Dip a cotton all in your milk and dab it on affected area. Rash will be gone in no time! My daughter had it too
  • @pandd10513 congrats on the teaching job! I'm also a teacher… Kindergarten for seven years. And happy though that I'm not going back to work until January 4… And then taking a half-day position when I return. Teaching is a tough profession!
I wish you the best :D
  • It's almost 2 am I'm up and my baby is not. Debating on pumping or waking baby up to feed her. She's been asleep for 4.5 hours. She's got to get up any minute, right?
Never had this problem with my first kid. He ate every 2 hours on the dot for the first 3 months.
  • @pandd10513 I also teach 4th grade! I love love love this age! I've been teaching it for 6 years- this will be my 7th. I also just got Nationally Board Certified this past year. Feel free to message me if you ever want/need support, ideas, or resources!

  • Well I tried a power pump session yesterday (10 min on, 10 min off for an hour) at the recommendation of my lactation consultant, to increase supply... Judging by how my breasts look & feel already I believe it may have worked!! My boobs are huge!! 4:30 am & feeding LO...too tired to pump, but can't wait to pump later this morning & see my output!
  • I feel like I sleep but don't, if that makes any sense. LO gets up at 7am usually which is the same time I get DD up for school. It's 9am now and he is getting ready to go back to sleep. It's like I nap all day long or something!
