post partum belly band

I've been looking online at all the different belly bands/wraps that are available and wanted to see if anyone has any experience with them. What brand did you use and were you happy with it?

I am eyeing the belly bandit brand. I am wondering if it is worth the higher price tag.

Thanks ladies!

Re: post partum belly band

  • There have been a few posts on this already that were pretty helpful:)
I am planning to use the belly bandit this go round, hopefully it works AMAZINGLY because that's what I'm shooting for!

  • I bought the bellefit (the two pack actually) and am excited to use it. All I can say (since I haven't used it yet) is that the quality of it looks really good and since they suggest you wear it for 9-12 months, I justified the cost with the length of time I'd be wearing it.

  • I had a c section on 7/30 and started wearing the belly bandit 3 days after. I love it, makes me feel nice and supported and I already have "shrunken" enough to need the next size down. Definitely recommend it
  • I got the underworks brand. Same one I used after DS. It was nice and soft yet sturdy. I loved it! I put it on right when I was admitted to the post partum floor. The belly bandit was much too tight after delivery. I transitioned to that one at about 3 weeks PP.

  • I've been seeing a lot about these on this board.. What exactly is it suppose to do?

It helps your core tighten back up, your uterus shrink back to normal size faster, etc

Hm interesting! I was looking at belly bandit but had no idea if it was just one of those gimmicks. Are they uncomfortable to wear?
  • I was given a no name brand at the hospital, and I'm still wearing it 2 weeks later. I think it was a belly bandit I had after my first pregnancy... A pink and black box? It was too big after only a few days
  • You have me curious now too! I'm up in the air about one of these still. I'm 8 days PP and shrinking pretty fast, but the support sounds REALLY nice...
  • I grabbed myself a mother Tucker corset after doing some research. In Aust these sorts of garments don't seem to have as huge a following and are hard to get a hold of - our 'celebrities' use a garment called the SRC short which goes from under breast all the way to knees. I'm sure its effective but not really practical when gwtting dressed to go out...

Had considered the original belly bandit but it looked a bit thick and i liked the idea of being able to leave the house without the compression garment being noticable. I also like that the corset allows for 6 or 7 size adjustments.
  • i just found these online yesterday randomly had no idea they existed. Seems like its worth a shot, but all i can think of is all those annoying "it works" wraps advertisements i see all the time. Hubby's a big fan of my bod and a bigger fan of a quick recovery, i'm sure i can get him to splurge on one as a gift for "us" :)
  • Thanks for the input!

I just ordered the belly bandit mother tucker and a less expensive upspring brand wrap. The upspring had reviews that it's comfortable to sleep in but can be bulky under clothing. I figured I'd use that one the first few weeks when I'm just hanging out at home anyways.

We will see! At the very least they provide back support.
  • I tried on the one they gave me at the hospital and I was too short, if that makes any sense! It would either be on my boobs or over my butt. My torso simply isn't long enough. Do these things come in different sizes? Are some brands shorter/taller than others? I'm not tall, but I'm not that short either (5'4'')!!
  • I bought this for after baby. I was fine after my first and second. The third hit me like a ton of bricks so I thought I should be prepared this time around.

  • @breezymeema7 that looks like a good one!

There are all sorts of different ones out there. Try looking up post partum belly band on Amazon... they should give dimensions and what not.
  • @jakira92 I'm 5'1" and this is the one I got. It is supposed to be a better fit for short people.

  • I went through their website under the package deals and got one side zip style and one front closure style. They are so strong compression wise that you just get one size. I think the 2 pack is just so you can rotate washing them easier. It shipped pretty quickly too and I was able to use PayPal (I'm weird about credit cards on sites/companies I'm not familiar with).

  • I went through the Bellefit website too. They sell "bundles" with different kinds of girdles. I emailed the customer service reps and they recommended I get two different sizes because you will lose weight obviously. They were super helpful and they shipped so quickly! So, I got the two dual closures in XL and L.
