Bedrest lurking -_-

If I were working I'd be complaining I want to be home. Now I've been placed on bed rest (only day 2) I want to be back at work -_-. Pregnancy hormones at its finest. I must admit, today will be quite entertaining considering our popularity on the S15 board. @-)

Re: Bedrest lurking -_-

  • Sorry you were put on bed rest.. sounds boring! I hope everything is ok!
  • Loading the player...
  • I have to write my thank you notes...funny how I'd rather lurk in BMB than do that ha-ha! I just want hubby to finish the dang nursery today!
  • I didn't have a baby shower....but I guess I should write notes for those who went outta their way to still get the baby gifts....great idea @squigles28 thank you.

@laylababe3 I appreciate you. It is boring. I have 3 weeks left. I'm going to lose it. But I know it's for the best.
  • I can't imagine being on bedrest, it would drive me insane! good luck.

  • Look at the bright side, bed rest is better than spending the time in the nicu and revolving around pumping! I hope your days fly by!
My husband says that writing thank you cards is an antiquated custom and, unless it's to old people he won't bother. I wish it worked like that
  • I'm gonna need it @jessandandy09
how much longer do you have?  I know I would start looking at my house and realizing all that I haven't gotten done and then just go bananas yelling at my DH to do all the things that I can't!

There was a big discussion at my baby shower about thank you cards. Some people thought it was extremely rude if they weren't sent out, whiles others thought it was a waste of $$, time and cards. I asked ppl to fill out envelopes for their thank you cards and only like 4 ppl did.. Does that mean the others don't want them? Speaking of which.. I should probably get working on these. I personally hate getting them and they end up getting stored away forever or end up in the trash! However, I'll do them for everyone, just so I don't offend that one person who expects them!
  • For you mommas on bed rest I feel for you! Although work is a struggle, I would mentally go crazy (or crazier lol) if I was on bed rest. But as PP mentioned, at least it's bed rest and not Nicu time. I hope the bed rest does you all good and you have healthy little ones!!
  • I still believe in thank you notes. However, I make my own on adobe illustrator so I suppose I save money there. I just like to show my appreciation for all the thoughtfulness from others. And I believe gift givers appreciate it as well.
  • Thank you notes are a tough call. If we do the "write your address on the envelope" thing I always tell them not to write a thank you. But short of that, I would still do it for everyone.
Personally I immediately throw them away
  • I still have 3 weeks and I'm glad I have so much support here! Thanks ladies! I had thank you cards for my first baby that I handed out at the baby shower. But I haven't found the time to do them this go round considering I didn't have a shower. With 3 weeks left I'm sure I'll find PLENTY of time!
  • What we have decided to do is send all our gift givers a birth announcement postcard with our maternity pic and the new kid on the blocks pic. And write a personal thank you on the card. This way you get a pic of the babe and a thank you. Some may frown but this could also be done via e-card. It's my way of killing two birds with one stone. Just an idea.
  • Absolutely still do thank you cards. Personally I feel that is one thing that should never expire. Someone took the time to go out of their way for you, take the 5 minutes to write to them expressing your appreciation. Yes they go in the trash but anytime I get a thank you I sincerely appreciate it. I find it extremely rude if I don't receive a thank you.
    Proper etiquette

  • So many ideas!!! You ladies are making my head spin (in a good way of course!)
  • Also, I've been trying to rewatch some favorite movies or new favorites on Netflix, coloring books, and my kindle is getting a workout. A lot of naps!
  • Lol, coloring books! I just picked up my newest Alex Cross book by James Patterson, I'll get into that once I quit lurking on the bump! :))
  • I have to stay entertained... My husband is taking his time finishing the nursery. I mean come on! It's just like the last couple things and I would do if if I could.
I just told him to forget it, I'll finish it when she's 3.
  • @ashbash1012 that's definitely not how he described me today!!! Ha-ha.
  • Lol my husband probably has a few choice names for me too! As long as I don't hear them! Just do what I say when I say and he won't feel my wrath :))
