Dilating and stats

I am 35 weeks 3 days and was told today that I am 1-2 cm and 50% effaced. It would be interesting to see if there is a correlation between dilating early and delivering early, or not.

I was checked at 29 weeks due to pains, I was dilated to 2cm. I'll be checked again on Tuesday at 34 weeks.

With my 2nd pregnancy I was dilated to 5cm at 37 wks & didn't have him until 2 days before my due date! I'm getting checked this Friday at 36.2 & hope to be that far along already! (Fingers crossed!)

I was checked today (36 weeks) I was so relieved that nothing is happening yet! I have places to be the next few weeks, lol. With my last two pregnancies I was partly dilated and effaced for weeks before delivering.

There is definitely no correlation. With my first I was dilated to 2 cm and 80% effaced and LOW LOW LOW since 32 weeks and she was late.

You can be dilated for weeks.

At 33 weeks I was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. I am 35 weeks now and doctor said there wasn't any change.

Definitely no correlation. I was 4cm and 80% effaced and contracting regularly from 37 weeks on with #3 and she came the day before her due date. Honestly there's really no reason to be checked other than curiosity. I didn't get checked much with #1 or 2 but was curious with #3 and I liked knowing when I went into labor I was already 4cm so I only had 6 left to go lol helped me mentally prepare a bit and I had fast labors so I liked knowing once it did start how much progress I had actually made.
