Raisin Belly

Anyone else completely terrified about what their stomach will look like once baby is out and "bump" is gone? This is my third! Baby one and two (now 6 and 3) didn't jack me up too bad but I'm afraid this will be the one! What are some remedies or tricks you guys plan on doing afterwards to help with your tummy?

Re: Raisin Belly

  • oh baby 2 really "raisined" me up.. I've gotten even more stretch marks with #3, so thrilled about all the droopy skin. :(

  • I'm planning to try breastfeeding and maybe join a gym. This is also my third and I never fully lost the weight from my first 9 years ago lol. I've had a pouch since 2006. It's time for it to go.
  • I'm scared AF! My plan is to keep using coconut oil, BF, and wear some postpartum shape wear (I picked out some super cute compression boyshort thing with a waist below the boobs on amazon).
  • FTM so no experience but I will be using a belly bandit delivery, breastfeeding, and mederma for stretch marks. If im 6 months to a year stretch marks havent faded to my liking my mom has already offered up getting me some cosmetic procedures as a gift. No shame in my game, ill be doing what I need to do to feel good about myself. I hope exercise and diet will do the trick if I have a pouch though. Ill be back to strict bodybuilding diet after so FX!
  • I hear ya girl! I have also given myself 6 months of intense working out and dieting. If that doesn't work, I will be going the tummy tuck w/ lipo route!!! Lol
  • @HarleenQuinz86 breastfeeding definitely helped me after my second baby! I mean my belly went waaaay down. I still struggled with a baby pouch and stretch marks.
  • My tummy looked untouched after 1 & 2 BUT #3 decided at 37wks to give me stretch marks. Grrrrrr

FTM. I bought some body shaping undergarments for my tummy and plan on using this shaping gel I bought from Sephora. I think it's called reconstructing gel for new Mommas. However, if it's bad I'll consider laser treatment or something of that nature.

Added note: it's the skin part I'm worried about. Not too concerned about dropping the weight as I'm pretty active in working out and eating well.
  • That's what I'm worried about candicejeff2013. The excess skin and muffin top.

Ugh so worried, my stretch marks are so bad! Planning on using some sort of waist trainer, breast feeding, exercise and clean eating, something for my stretch marks.. If all else fails I'll probably get laser treatment of some sort or cosmetic surgery, not right away though as this is baby #1 and I plan on having another
  • Someone recommended bio oil to me! Not sure if it's works or not but I def wanna try it. I travel frequently to the Virgin Islands for work, where I'm often in a bathingsuit. I'm so worried of what my body will look after this!

Personal experience, mederma is waaay better than bio oil. This was on fading a scar rather than stretch marks though.

Thanks the advice! I was originally thinking mederma so maybe I'll try that first if I need to!
  • @Keywest1007 I am from the VI! St. Croix to be exact! How lucky you get to travel there for work!
  • This will be my 3rd, and although I never had a flat tummy before any of them, I still am concerned. Especially since my best friend said "the 3rd kid always wrecks your body"....suuuuper lol I'm not too concerned with dropping weight right away, I'm going to give myself a year to get into better shape than what I was before any kids. I have stretch marks but they've never been dark, always been really light. My DH and I have made a deal that after I have Lily and am able to that we will join a gym and start a diet plan and hopefully the 'competition' will motivate me.
  • This is also my third.  My stomach stayed pretty flat after both (the weight stayed on in other places, hello thighs and cankles!)  However, I have felt a lot more pulling and pain in my abs this time.  I am afraid that maybe my luck ran out and I will end up with a perpetual 4 month belly :(

  • I did get smaller after my first but had a pouch that was there to stay. This time I will get some sort of support garment to wear in hopes of picking that pouch back up a little. Otherwise, tummy tuck will be in my future based on finances, lol!!
