We're 12 weeks pregnant - going to find out the sex of the baby (if the bean cooperates) during our anatomy scan on September 18th. We're juggling around different names now.
For a girl, we really like Everly Lynn Brannan.
(Lynn after my own middle name, and also my own mother's middle name - family tradition).
For a boy, we really like Connor Wayne Brannan, but we're not AS sold on it.
(Wayne is, again, my husband's middle name, and his dad's middle name).
Connor is fine. Every is ridiculous. You will set your daughter up for lots of headache with a name like that. Why do you want to give your son a nice, normal name but if you end up with a daughter, she is stuck with an absurd, random word name? Doesn't she deserve something she can be proud to put on a resume too?
Hmm. Not too sold on Beverly - I think it sounds too old-fashioned. I do really like the name Everly (I have for years, ever since I worked at a daycare and a little girl there was named that). But I'll keep my options open for something more traditional too, if I come across another name I like as much. Thanks for the feedback everyone!
If Lynn is a definite middle name, I think you need a name that doesn't end in -ly or an -in sound. Otherwise it's either a smoosh name mess or sing songey poem mess.
That's a great list of names, thank you! Norah would be cute - Norah Lynn Brannan? Although I would probably spell it "Nora" if we did go with that one. I've always loved the name Savannah too, but I feel like with our last name it sounds/looks too "rhymey".
For your girl name- I've always strongly disliked Lynn as a middle name (I know you can't help that you and your mom have the name but still, hate it). If you're dead set on that being the middle name, definitely don't choose a first name that ends in an -ee sound.

Nora Lynn is great, especially if you are keeping Lynn as the mn. Everly Lynn definitely doesn't flow since the fn ends in -ly.

So I came across the name Emma in a book I'm reading and it struck me what a pretty, classic name it is. Emma Lynn? Emma Rose? Better than Nora?
If you don't mind that Emma is in the top 10, meaning super popular, then yes, it's a lovely classic name. I do prefer Emma over Nora, and they both pair nicely with Lynn. Keep both on your list and decide when she is born.
Definitely throw Everly on your "guilty pleasure names I would never actually use list" and call it a day.
Connor is not my style but it's fine paired with Wayne.
I honestly think Everly is not bad at all. I personally like unique names. I think because my name is so simple and common I just got annoyed with everyday names that I hear too much.

FWIW, Everly entered the top 1000 3 years ago and is already 178. It is the trendiest of trendy names.
When kindergarten rolls around for kids born last year and this year, Everly will be quite common
DH and I -finally- agreed on a girl name that we both really like. I wanted to run it by you all, as well -
Natalie Elizabeth Brannan. I love it.
If it's a boy, I think we're going to stick with Connor Wayne - but we are open to other middle names, we just have a hard time thinking of boy middles names for some reason!

Re: What do you think of these names?
Your boy name is just fine. Please don't give your son a nice normal name and jack up your daughter's name.
EDD for #1: 3/19/17
It wouldn't be Every, it would be Everly.
Connor is very nice.
