  • First off I have been MIA for awhile, I've taken sometime to gather myself and focus on positive energy and good thoughts. Two baby showers and BFN in one day was more than I could take, so I had to shut down the pity party and focus on myself. Major testing last week had two sets of ultrasounds done and the HSG test.  Emotionally I was a complete mess but so far all looks normal and healthy. Will be meeting with my doctor next week to get a clearer picture of what's next for me.

QOTW: No instruments here, but I'm pretty crafty and creative...that's a special talent, right? lol
    Married Sept. 2011

  • YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S FINALLY CD1!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally start stimming tomorrow pending my CD3 bloodwork and US. I have such low expectations though that mostly I'm just excited to get this done and move on. I'm focussing more of my energy planning our November trip to Costa Rica. But I am STOKED to finally get moving.

@riveridgional - Sitting out is hard. But I think it was a good idea. You may not realize you needed the break until further into yoru cycle.

QOTW: Least musical person ever, right here at my table for one.

  • I'm in the 2ww. We went ahead on Thursday with the IUI with 4 follies of reasonable size. Before the U/S last Monday I had been absolutely sure that we would be doing the IUI on Tuesday so now when I am counting out the days to figure out when to test I keep counting from Tuesday so I think it will feel like a ridiculously long 2ww this time.

I learned how to play a clarinet in elementary school, I would not say I was talented at it though :P
Rifle shooting is a skill of mine, I shot for an NCAA team in college.

@jnissa - Yay for CD1 and getting to move forward!
    ***Siggy Warning Child and Loss***

Officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 4 years of TTC
IUI#2 gave us DS#1 who became an angel a few minutes after birth from Noonan syndrome
IUI#4 gave us DS#2 - going strong as a toddler!

TTC again... Found a clinical trial for unexplained infertility and finished 16 weeks of "lifestyle intervention"
Cycle #1 - cancelled for ovarian cyst x3...
  • I ovulated this wknd w/o a trigger I'm so thrilled. So I will be entering my 2ww just like @BlissfulWifey and @kistra hoping for our BFP!

@riveridgional taking time off is difficult but giving yourself to recharge and focus could do a world of good

    @jnissa congrats on CD1!!

    @Nessa1CJ good luck next week

Question of the Week: Do you play an instrument or have a special skill?
I love love love music. I played the clarinet, dabbled at the piano, I sang in numerous groups.

  • Hi all
Had my retrieval this morning, they retrieved 10 eggs so tomorrow we find out how many fertilized. I have to tell you that this cycle kicked my ass. I'm hoping for a higher rate of fertilization this time around. I'll be on progesterone sups twice a day and estrogen once a day so fingers crossed for some healthy embies!
@jnissa so happy it's CD1 for you! You've waited so long!!!

QOTW I play the piano. Not well. But I play lol.

  • I just started provera this week. But I'm still waiting on AF. We had my in laws in town last week and I finally feel like I can breath again with them gone.

QOTW: I play flute, bassoon, and sing.
  • AF finally came last week, so I had my CD3 ultrasound + BW on Saturday where they found a cyst. A got the go ahead to start Letrozole anyway. Had my CD6 monitoring today. All is looking good (cyst has greatly diminished) and I start injections tonight. Back in for monitoring on Friday, and hopefully we'll be doing the IUI early next week.

QOTW: I wish I played piano, but can only do so on my iPad app
  • @linne23 You've been added to the checkin!

@BlissfulWifey FX that this is it for you! BTW the trigger shot doesn't 'go to' anything.  The follies react on their own to the hormone that is in your bloodstream from the shot.

@riveridgional Don't worry, CD1 will be here before you know it, just enjoy your time off the best that you can :-)

@Nessa1CJ Welcome back... GL with your RE appt!

@jnissa:   YAY for CD1!! I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica.

@kistra Four follies is a great number so FX that this is it for you!

@mylienc I love music also... I'm thinking about dusting off my piano and playing again.

@Cupcakegal930 FX for you, can't wait to hear about your fert report.  Come on sweet little embies!! :-)

@LauraNick2010  LOL thank goodness that you didn't have to stim with your inlaws there... that's not always a good mix.

  • I am just waiting to see if round one of Clomid worked (it looks like I did ovulate) and if there is a BFP or BFP, but I am thinking BFN.  I have my next script of Clomid and my RE doubled the dose for this round but I am hoping AF comes on her own and I don't have to take the Provera again...FX!  Does anyone know if I take one Clomid in the am and one at night or both at night?  I took them at night before because I heard they could make you tired.  Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I ask my RE.

QOTW:  I play the piano and cello

Congrats @jnissa that is great!  @LauraNick2010 oh my gosh, any company when you're going through any of this would be stressful!  Welcome @linne23!!

Also, the above 'blank' comment from @Phishkie was me...for whatever reason The Bump had me logged on as an old username I had and I can't figure out how to delete the post so I just left it blank.
  • I'm in the 2ww for clomid round 3 right now, trying not to get my hopes up like I have every other month in this process!

@jnissa yay! It seemed like cd1 was taking forever to show for you, glad you can finally move forward.

@LauraNick2010 another flute player over here!

    Good luck this week everyone!
  • Ladies, I just want to say that you all are the best. There aren't many places that you can go where women cheer for your period to start. I have a big squishy heart right now :)

  • @GoldenKeys thanks! We found out yesterday that 7 eggs were mature but only 1 fertilized. Needless to say I'm quite upset and the nurse said that 1 didn't look to good so it's a waiting game to see if it will even make it to transfer. I'll know more today.

  • @GoldenKeys : thanks! Pretty excited about starting this cycle. I was able to start working out again (although I somehow managed to lose 2 lbs after the surgery doing nothing and not eating as well as usual...my doc thinks my trouble losing weight was likely hormone related), started acupuncture and decided to put a big project that was stressing me out on ice for now. Hopefully that helps things! How are you doing? Any changes or plans on your end?

Congratulations on the weight  loss!  I don't have any big changes, still hoping to cycle in October.   I'm curious about acupuncture and have heard great things about it, so I'll be looking into that too!

  • @GoldenKeys : it's definitely pricey (I'm going twice a week at $85 a pop), but the guy I'm seeing was teaching traditional chinese medicine in Beijing and specializes in fertility (he asked about my antral follicle count, dosages of meds, etc). So hopefully it'll all be worth it. Hard to say if it's 'working' though.
  • I was really disappointed last cycle. I had two follies, lining was 8.9mm on cd 14, and my progesterone was super high - more than likely ovulated both. But tested - bfn. So I'm currently on provera - day 9 of 10. And hopefully my period starts really soon. Just hoping my next cycle is gives me similar results, but a BFP. FX for all us ladies.

    2013-2014 - 6 rounds of Clomid - BFNs

October 2015 - wait listed for IVF #1
IVF #1 March 2016 - bfn, zero frosties!
Femara cycle 1 May 2016 - POAS starting May 21st / beta testing May 25th....

  • Hello ladies. My DH and I decided to take a break after being heartbroken after our first IVF didn't work in our favor. We will probably do another round by the end of the year, but for now I am focusing on myself and my DH. We got so wrapped up in this, like most do, and just want to enjoy life. I have been doing acupuncture and love it. That doctor wants me to do acupuncture and herbal pills for a couple months to see if we can get pregnant naturally. He is very good and I trust him. I highly recommend doing it if it's affordable to you. Very relaxing and it has started to balance my body meaning when I receive my period I don't have cramps, or clots. Just all so interesting to me. He told me that once your body is balanced you should be very fertile. I'll try

Best of lucky to all ladies who are going through IUI or IVF. I hope the ladies who aren't doing anything right now can relax a little and enjoy life. I've learned to be grateful for what I have now and don't worry about what I don't have, (baby).
    Kristy
  • @AshleySchulte87 I am sorry about your BFN.  FX for really good results next cycle!

@kristylang I get it... I'm so sorry about the IVF cycle. You're absolutely doing the right thing... taking care of yourself is the most important part of this whole process.  Good luck with the accupuncture as well.   Do you want me to keep you in the checkin, just in case?
