A good friend of mine is I charge of finding a Halloween costume, since it is her favorite holiday. She mentioned something about a tootsie roll costume.
DD was only 2 months old when her first Halloween rolled around, and she was sleeping so much of the time that we decided to put her in a little bear sleeper (just had a hood with ears and a little tail). It was cute and practical, and it didn't look too much like a costume that she couldn't wear it several more times before she grew out of it!
This LO is due so close to Halloween that I don't think we'll do a costume since we won't know if he'll come before, on, or after the holiday.
If the baby is here and I'm feeling up to it I may have DH or my BFF pick something up last minute for cute photos. However, I won't buy anything early in case I don't need it.
DS is due on 10/27. If he's late we might actually miss Halloween, so I'm not planning on it (but I kind of want to!). We are planning on doing some geeky outfits for his first set of pictures, though. A friend is trying to track down an R2-D2 onesie and hat.
I sure am. I have a brown Moby wrap and brown sweats and a brown jacket for me and all brown for baby. Knitting a hat for him now that is kangaroo ears. Going to make some for me too. And he will be a baby joey. = D
We have a little orange onesie with a pumpkin face on it, and an orange/black headband for her. We're not sure if she'll arrive in time cause my OB will let me go 2 weeks past due before inducing, but we wanted to have something just in case Either way we'll probably stay inside, DH just looooves halloween so missing out on that first would break his heart.
I'm doing a superman onesie that has a detachable cape on the back.. There's several cute little onesies on buy buy baby.. That way they are still kind of dressed up!
We have a little knitted yoda hat that my fiancé on Etsy so I think we're going to put the hat on him and then find a brown blanket (or onesie) for him to wear! So he's going to be a little Jedi!
We bought him these onesies and if he's here for Halloween (we anticipate he would be) we'll have him bundled in a carrier with one of them and a matching hat.
Mine will definitely be here for Halloween. We have a tiny skeleton bodysuit for him It'll be right for the weather and hopefully comfy, and cute enough for a few pics.
I want to so badly! When we found out we were pregnant, the FIRST thing I did was Google "newborn costumes"! I am currently working on this "new-bjork" outfit ....
DD will be Peg and LO Cat from the PBS show Peg+Cat. I just bought dark blue cotton footie pjs that will also work for general use. I got some matching blue fleece fabric and plan to see a little hat with cat ears an a tail to add to the pjs. Super simple. DDs costume is a little harder but I found patterns and fabric to make it. Already crocheted her hat!
DD1 is 3yo and wants to be Sherif Callie from the cartoon. I'm going to try to find a green onsie and hat so baby can be Toby, the cactus friend. I'll use beige yarn and hot glue to make cactus spikes. She'll be a month old by then.

FTM due 10/31. I am not going to buy anything Halloween . However, there was the cutest little Halloween sleeper at buybuyBABY today, and I wanted it so bad. I jokingly showed my husband and said, "Look, we can guarantee a November baby!"
I'm getting this for my LO. I'm a photographer so if nothing else I'll do some pictures of her in it. But if it's not too cold I'll take her to our church fall festival in it.
Uhhhh... Yeah! What's the point of having a baby if you can't dress them up in silly costumes for Halloween??? You only get a few chances before the realize they look silly and ask you to stop so why not take advantage of their inability to protest and go all out hahahaaaa
I have a batgirl costume on Amazon. If we decide to I will order it on Prime. We will probably just go to the grandparent's houses. Halloween is my favorite holiday but she won't be very big by then provided she comes on the 16 and not later.
Yes! I love halloween. Have to say I'm a little envious of the moms making costumes, when I was a kid my mom would make our costumes. I loved it! Somewhere along the way I sadly never picked up the sewing, crocheting, knitting gene.
I think that it's adorable! We'll just be staying in for the night, but dressing our LO up. We can't decide between a pumpkin or candy corn as a costume...I think it depends on her hair color. I'm a red head, so if she has red hair, we'll probably dress her up as a pumpkin.
My mom is making her a black and orange tutu and hat for Halloween! If anyone actually came to our house I'd probably want to get her an actual costume but we have almost no kids in our neighborhood. We also live less than a mile away from a really nice hotel/resort that does a safe Halloween type of thing. So any kids in the general area go over there for trick or treating.
But she'll wear her tutu for pictures, adorableness and my general amusement! :x

This sums up exactly how I feel about baby Halloween costumes. Mostly the last one
I personally think it's too soon to carry around to family members houses and what not. (Especially if you live in cold weather) but I think dressing them up just to stay home and take pictures is reasonable! Everyone may not agree tho. I got my daughter this cute onsie that says "my first halloween" and a matching bow. We will probably just stay home and snuggle.
If our daughter is born with red hair, we plan on dressing her up like Pebbles. If she doesn't have red hair, we will find another costume. We plan on taking her to the school where I work during the day and then to a couple houses in the evening.
Definitely dressing him up like a little jack-o-lantern! He's due 10/31 but now we know I'm going to be induced so he'll be a couple weeks old. Can't wait to have some adorable Halloween photos for his baby book!
We've been calling him our little pumpkin so it's very suiting.
