Hello I am O- and RH- I found out at my 7 week appointment that I had already sensitized and that the Rhogam shot will not be effective. This is my 2nd pregnancy. My son is 12. He had complications in the form of severe Jaundice and his bilirubin count at birth was 25.5. Luckily the light therapy worked for him but it was a very scary situation. Now with this pregnancy, I have to go to a specialist every 2 weeks and monitor the baby's anemia levels in uterus. If her levels get higher than 150 we will be admitted to the hospital and they will proceed to do a Blood transfusion to her in uterus. Both of my grandmothers are O- RH- as well as one of my cousin. My cousin had to have the in uterus blood transfusion with her 3rd pregnancy (which is normally when the highest complications arise with the RH- issues). I have been told since I sensitized so early it would be best to not have anymore children after this one. So I will be getting my tubes tied after this miracle baby.
