Past Due/Full Term Mommas Update*

My due date was this week and I have an appointment at 3:15 today. Are any of you requesting* a membrane sweep? My doc has not mentioned it up to this point...said she wouldn't induce until 41 weeks but I don't want to have to be induced. I also don't like the idea of going past 41 weeks. With that being said, I believe I want to request one today. A little nervous...however, I'm not even sure if I'm eligible for one or not. We shall see.
*UPDATE: I did not know this going in but my doc would not perform a sweep since I was GBS positive. This can be very dangerous for mother and child. However, she has done cervical checks since week 37...I suppose there is a big difference. Anyway, I did not consider the correlation between the two. However, my friend's doc unknowingly did a sweep while she was GBS positive...he was very upset about the mix up. Thankfully she was put on antibiotics during labor and everything was fine.

Everyone is different though. I was just left crampy and spotting and I just didn't want to go thru that again if it wasn't going to lead to anywhere. Good luck!
Thursday I was 1cm dilated, 6 on the bishop scale. OB attempted a membrane sweep but it was difficult to get in there to do it well. Sunday and monday I had a lot of painless Braxton Hicks contractions.
Tuesday (my due date) i measured 3 and my OB did a really successful membrane sweep. There was a pop as the sac separated from the lining. Doc said she expected I would go ibto labor within 48 hours.
12 hours later I woke up with contractions 9 minutes apart at 3am. They started out crampy but quickly progressed to harder contractions an hour later at 4, and by 5 I was getting full blown intense back labor (ugh not again!). The pain was worse and coming faster than my first time! I could barely walk to the car.
Got to the hospital around 6:30. Measured 3.5cm. They gave me the option to walk around or rest. I didn't think I could walk so I stayed in the bed and had a bunch of really hard contractions. Very quickly I progressed to a 5.
Got my epidural at 8:30. Felt SO much better. Doc broke my water at 9am. Now I am relaxing and enjoying a popsicle and peppermints (they were out of gummi bears) on a liquid diet. Had a bunch of blood drawn. Told my dad to delete is Facebook post about me being in labor so we don't get unexpected visitors or burglars. Seriously.
Can't wait to see my girl!
Oh! I forgot to mention I ate 1/3 of a pineapple last night. That might have helped induce the contractions... Ha!
I really hope I go into labor before that. What do you think my chances. Doc did NST and baby is doing perfectly fine. I just can't wait to have my first baby.
