Daily spotting?

I'm sure everyone feels like the subject of spotting has been talked to death but I am a FTM and freaking out and can't see my Dr until Tuesday! I've had spotting nearly every day for the last 2 weeks. At first I thought it was implant bleeding and then maybe break through bleeding so I ignored it but now I'm worried it's gone on too long? No cramping or any other symptoms at all, but I'm still freaking out! Help!!!! I'm 9 weeks 5 days.

Re: Daily spotting?

  • I also wanted to point out that this is BARELY THERE spotting... I never see anything in my underwear, it's only when I wipe after I go pee... sorry if that's TMI!

  • I know it's impossible to relax when you're so freaked out, but do everything you can to not stress yourself to the point of being sick over this. Extra stress never helps!
My OB is pregnant and said she had 2 weeks of actual bleeding and was sure something was wrong, but is fine. Spotting is very common. If you're just spotting and it's very light, I don't think it's time to worry yet. However I'm not a doctor, so if you feel it warrants a trip to see yours sooner or to the hospital, it might help your peace of mind. GL!

  • Spotting can be so worrisome. But it sounds like you only spot after you use the toilet, it just might be the straining that's causing it. Hoping your doctor sets your mind at ease on tuesday.
  • inomniaparatus it's mostly brownish, this morning there was a bit of red and then back to brown. Unfortunately I can't call my Dr. I called a medical hotline we have that's manned by nurses and spoke to a nurse for half an hour yesterday and she said it sounds like it's okay and to just see my Dr when they open back up on Tuesday.
  • Ok don't stress - many people get spotting and all turns out fine :)

  • Brownish is a good sign, even though spotting still causes panic! Take some deep breaths & keep us posted!!

  • Thanks all, you've made me feel so much better, as has trolling other posts and seeing how other people have had heavier or more significant bleeding and been okay. I'm telling myself my baby is tough like his/her mama! ;) And yes, will keep you all posted, will head into my doctors office first thing Tuesday.
  • I also spotted like you, for a total of 18 days. It scared the hell out of me! Like you, it was mostly visible in toilet paper after wiping (not from straining, though, just not enough to collect in my underwear). As long as you are not bleeding enough to soak through pads, you and baby should be OK :) I was advised by my doctor not to have sex or orgasms, as it can cause the uterus to possibly contract, and semen may cause the cervix to slightly dilate.

Positive thoughts for you and baby :)
  • I'm experiencing the same thing.  I read that it may be placenta implantation bleeding.  I have a 2nd ultrasound this afternoon, and plan to ask then.  Very terrifying indeed, though.  Sending you positive thoughts!!

I've had bright red bledding plus the kind you've mentioned that is brown, and for multiple days. They said I was fine.
  • @DeleaJean congrats on good news!

Congrats! I had one little moment of spotting last week and nearly had a panic attack even though I knew it was likely normal and nothing like when I had my MC. Hang in there! I hope you don't have any more scares. We are all pretty far along at this point and the chance of MC here on out is pretty slim!
  • So glad to hear all is well :)
