Anyone do pure barre

Hi all, I used the search engine, but nothing came up. Sorry if it's already been discussed. I'm just curious if anyone does it, and what modifications you are doing for abs. Anyone have experience with previous pregnancy and pure barre? I'm a crazy worrier, but I'm trying to stay active. Thanks!

I actually bought a Barre DVD designed specifically for pregnancy. I'm sure they make others, but this is the one I bought:

    I like it!

I was just thinking of posting something on this! I've been doing Pure barre for over a year now. My instructors sent me a pdf with very helpful info on modifications, I'll try to attach it here. I'm 16w5d: so far I put the ball behind my lower back for ab work on the floor and stay holding on behind my thighs more often than I used to for more support. I also do not twist as much when working obliques. Hope this helps! How long have you been doing Pure Barre?

  • I don't know what it is. Some kind of exercise? If so, most OBs suggest doing what your body is already used to in terms of physical activity and adding walking, as it is low impact and good for your heart.

I've been to a couple classes. My friend did it up until she had the babies. Your instructor should be able to show you modifications. Just try to get to class early to ask. It's so freaking expensive I can't bring myself to get a package. Instead I'm going to join a gym with childcare.
  • Hi! I've been doing pb off and on for 3 years. It is so expensive but I love it. I have the videos too during my broke months
  • Thank you ladies! I'm such a worry wart! I'll definitely hold onto my thighs and stop twisting!!
  • I have mad respect for all of you! I joined a yoga studio known for pre/postnatal yoga when I had dd and they had a baby wearing barre class, OMG I was dieing!!! Hardest work out I've ever done.

Does that mean they were holding their babies? Literally? OMG I would die too!
