Possible Placenta Previa

Hello, this is my first pregnancy & had my 19.5 wk check up. I didn't hear what I wanted...was informed placenta is low in uterus "possibly placenta previa case." Dr. Said it's too early to tell. Anyone else experience this second trimester? Did it get better? I'm trying not to worry but it's hard.

  • There are a lot of threads about this, you might gain some comfort from them if you use the search function.

  • I appreciate your response :) I'm not very good at navigating through this app. Where do I search? Thanks much.
  • Go to the bottom of the threads page and you will see a search bar :)
  • I found out about mine last week my Dr. Told me I have marginal placenta previa. She told me 90% of the time it corrects itself so I'm hoping and praying that it does! I never had this with my first son and really was hoping not to have a c section!
  • Well ...I have been on the Internet looking up stuff on WebMD etc., bad choice! It has all this negative stuff sooo now I'm in the "what if," mindset. It's terrible!! I wish the best for you :) I'm trying to not worry...it's so hard not to. Thanks for sharing!
  • Don't over think it and only be concerned if your OB is. Usually, worst case with previa is a c-section if it blocks or is too close to the cervix.
  • Thank You for the support. I really appreciate it!
  • I had a low lying placenta with my son which moved up over time. This time I have placenta previa which they think may move up, if not its a caeser, which it is anyway and possibly earlier than planned to avoid going into labour. Apart from that I haven't had may bleeding etc so hoping this stays the case. Good luck mumma it's scary xo
  • I had a partial placenta previa at 10 weeks...I went to my 20 week scan yesterday and they have removed the classification as it is no longer covering my cervix...but it is still low he said so they're going to continue to monitor its movement. My doc told me it was nothing to worry about and will continue to move up as baby and uterus get bigger

It's comforting to know other women are going through same thing. I feel much better being able to express my concerns & can relate to all of you. Any tips/or ways to make better..is greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks everyone for the support & sharing!!!
  • I was so happy when I saw this post!! I am not alone and neither are you! I found out yesterday at my 21 week scan that I may have placenta previa. Dr. didn't seem too concerned. I have a csection planned already but it is so scary to google this! I was told no sex and I am having another scan at 28 weeks to see if it corrected itself. So now for 7 weeks I get to worry!

  • Katy0525 I completely understand. We are in the same boat. I felt sad after my Dr. appt...which before I left so happy& in good spirits. I'm trying my best to stay positive for my bundle of joy...& also prepare my mind that I may need a C-section. It's tough not to worry BUT positive side if your baby heart beating normal he/she moving around/growing properly....focus on that. What I'm trying to do. We all just need to hang in there❤️
  • @csigli that is right! My Lo is growing well and 100% healthy! I am so haply about that! It is just a bit worrisome.
I am staying away from google. Haha
