Conjoined twins, what would you do?

watching TLC, and there's a pair of conjoined twins and they are too cute!! There 3 or 4 and there getting seperated. They share a bladder, large intestine and kidney, but have 2 arms each, and only 2 legs. And over all are perfectly healthy.
But there heart broken, they don't want to be apart. It's so sweet.. And so sad.
My question is... Would you leave them? Would you seperate them knowing that they have a chance at a normal life and will thank you for it in the long run. And avoid possible future complications. (If any)
I honestly don't know what I would do. Part of me wouldn't want to seperate my babies, because they clearly love being together.. But part of me would want to give them the best in life, and they will still always have each other.
Just wondering.

Re: Conjoined twins, what would you do?

  • I would separate them so they can have a normal life.

  • Finishing the show, it def turned out for the best. There happy and still have that close bond.. One girl did perfect. The other has to be on meds for life. She's been on a supplementing feeding tube since the operation (3 plus years) but she's doing great. And they are getting a prosthetic leg! They don't even remember being together.
I believe I would have them seperated as well. Seeing how well they did!
  • We just had a set born last December in our area. They were finally separated in May and are thriving. I think one is home now and the other will be going home soon.
After seeing their success, I'd be inclined to separate (if possible)
  • Wow! I can't even imagine or even think about being in that situation! Thank you heavenly father for my healthy baby boy!!
  • AMEN @ecloho . I am beyond greatful that all my girls are perfectly healthy and I don't have to make any decisions or anything like this. But I am curious about how everyone would handle it. They were absolutely precious and adorable. Healthy. It was a great show to watch, and they did amazing after separation. God is good that's for sure. I did watch one where the twins were not so healthy. And had a really hard time afterwards. But both recovered.
