Any other moms due while their husband is deployed? I'm active duty myself and this isn't our first deployment, his or mine, but this is our first while expecting so I'm pretty nervous. I'm due Oct 11th and he will be back late January. He recorded books for him to listen to, I play them every night (partly for baby, partly for me!) We are new to overseas so no family or friends here, but my mom is flying in for the birth so as long as he (Baby) is on time I won't be alone alone. Nervous though!
Re: Hubby deployment missing birth
Anyways, I hate that your husband won't physically be there, and I'm sure he hates it too, but it will be so amazingly sweet when he get's back in January and finally gets to hold y'alls sweet baby!
I hope your baby is on time and your mom is able to be there for you. And maybe you can Skype hubby during delivery?
If you can make it being dual active duty you can make it being mommy and daddy for a little while too! You got this!
Are there any military mom groups around you that could offer support? Maybe you could develop a friendship with a few gals from now til birth and that could be a huge blessing for you!
Thanks everyone
Its hard but I am trying to stay positive. We don't get any time off before hand so when my water breaks and contractions start that's when maternity leave starts! We work up until the day of our due date. Yay lol. There aren't too many "military" mom groups, mostly just civilian wives and they can be a bit hard to "join" their groups. Plus I'm so tired by the time work ends that I just want to go home and cuddle my doggies!
@cbowen1020, I just came from Osan so I know what your husband is going through. Even though its not a deployment but a short tour its still a long time away from family. My husband was at Kunsan that year and I was at Osan. Closer but still apart. If you have any questions about anything let me know
