Amusement park and hiding pregnancy

I'm going to an amusement this week with my MIL, DS, and extended cousins with their kids. I really don't want to tell anyone about the pregnancy (I will tell my MIL after my first u/s August 19th but I wasn't planning on letting it slip to anyone else in the group until after first tri. I've had a few losses and don't want to untell everyone.

Most of the rides I'm assuming will be toddler rides and DS can go by himself and with the cousins but I'm sure there will be a few instances in which I'll be expected to ride something. How would you approach this? Just say I have an upset stomach? Not sure if my MIL will believe that... Try to go on some of the baby rides that would be safe then send someone else with him for ones I'm not comfortable with?

I would just go and have fun and not worry about trying to hide it. If someone guesses that you're pregnant, hopefully they'll realize that it's early and you're not ready to say anything, so they'll keep it to themselves.

If you are going with small children, I'm guessing you can ride everything they can and be just fine. Maybe ask your OB? If that makes you uncomfortable, just go with the not feeling well excuse.

We just went to a kiddie amusement park and I did some rides with my daughter. It's all how comfortable you feel going on them vs. Risk.

We're headed to worlds of fun in a few weeks, so I just looked this up. There are no studies done on pregnancy and roller coasters. The signs are primarily for park liability and are based on instances of placental abruption in car accidents. Long story short, anything smooth enough for toddlers should be pretty much completely safe. I'd just avoid jerky rides or ones with sudden starts and stops.

Of course there is risk, so don't just take my (random internet stranger) word for it. Do your own research and decide what you're comfortable with.

I would check their website! We wanted to go to Sesame Place for Halloween with my now 15 month old and on their website there is a section that dictates which rides are pregnancy safe! (you also get half priced admission, but I think that would definitely be a tip off

)

I am pretty sure that my first miscarriage was caused by a ride on a roller coaster. I would err on the side of caution. I'm sure toddler rides like merry-g-round, etc. are fine, but I would avoid anything bumpy or roller coaster-like. And I really do believe you can place the "I'm sick" card

Thanks everyone! I will just try to stick to the baby rides (carousel, scenic train ride, etc.) It will be a little tricky because I'm sure people will be surprised about my sudden motion sickness. I usually love all the roller coasters but there is no way I would ever risk it.
