Diaper rash newborn

We have been home one day he's 3 days old and starting to get a open area I use Destin. Can it be the diapers

Re: Diaper rash newborn

  • I have this same issue. I love Pampers but beginning to wonder if my LO (15 days) is too sensitive for them. She wakes whenever she is wet or dirty, as soon as she goes, she cannot tolerate anything in her diaper and she seems red to me. I have tried Huggies which seemed like the red was clearing up but ran out of them so had to go back to Pampers. I am going to try other brands, my DR office recommended using organic ones. Good luck!

  • My LO had a horrible case of diaper rash, only things that worked was Triple Paste- stuff works amazing
  • Triple paste is awesome! A&D didn't touch our LOs rash, but has helped prevent new ones. Our clinic had me come in when our baby had a rash at a week old, just because of how young he was and to make sure it wasn't fungal and needing a prescription. Good luck!!
  • Butt paste worked very well for our little man. It seemed to work faster than the Desitin!
  • We use coconut oil for diaper rash. It works really well.
  • Butt paste works for my little man also
  • My little girl is allergic to desitin. Has the same kind of rash, try switching to butt paste extra strength. And may be the diapers, or wipes. Try changing 1 at a time
  • Breast milk and butt paste!
  • Coconut oil cleared my LO up in one day. That stuff is a miracle worker!
  • I switched to water wipes for my son. You can get them on Amazon and we haven't had anymore diaper rash since we switched.
  • Breastmilk if you have some! (I've been told it helps just about everything☺️)
  • People saying breast milk.. As in feeding them it? Cause my baby got her rash after I stopped breast feeding (she was continuously losing weight. And being a preemie it wasn't good. Then when I started supplementing, my barely there supply nearly shut off.) she got bad diarrhea, and it basically burnt her butt. (On top of using desitin)
Anyways.. I don't have any breast milk, but wondering if the switch could have cause this.
  • I meant put milk on the rash directly.
  • Oh really? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that works.. It helped my nipples when they were cracking.
  • Coconut oil has worked really well for my LO! I was skeptical at first but it was better within a day.
  • Anyone try Water Wipes? I've been using wet paper towels and read about them. Thinking they might also help with diaper rash?!
