Re: Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns - Aug 3

  • I woke up at 3am today with abdominal pain. It's in my upper abdomen, like near the bottom of my rib cage. I feel a bit nauseous as a result, pooping hasn't really helped. It maybe indigestion, or maybe stomach acid, or maybe muscle pain. It doesn't feel like heartburn that I have experienced before, but maybe heartburn feels different in pregnancy (?). Anyone else experienced upper abdominal pain like this? I'm 16+4. Any suggestions on how to get relief?

  • The nosebleeds are getting worse lately :/  from everything I have read this is completely normal though! Just no fun
  • I just got back from a weekend away and am feeling really relaxed. My only complaints are my boobs (they're very sore and my nipples have completely changed- I'm super self conscious about it :( ) and going to the bathroom (that's partially my fault- vacation=eating poorly so now I'm suffering the consequences).

I swear I can feel a tap or a kick every once in a while early in the morning right when I wake up. I wish I knew if it was baby or not. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm willing these movements into existence out of sheer desperation. Grow baby grow! :)
  • I posted this on another thread but every time I go to sleep my arms fall asleep !! And they feel like hammer hands when I wake up :( and now my legs are starting to fall asleep too.
  • This morning I was in my bathroom getting ready naked and (just out of the shower) and I didn't laugh or cough or anything and cloudy fluid started dripping down my legs.. I am 16 weeks today and I am pretty sure it wasn't urine.. Has anyone experienced this?

  • We had our MFM appt this morning. Found out baby #4 is a girl! So that is baby girl #3. But she only has a 2 vesel cord. Needless to say we are in shock. Blood work for genetic testing was done before we left. And we go back in a few weeks for a growth follow up and an fetal echocardiogram at 24 weeks.
  • Okay this one might be tmi, but... Itchy nipples. Anyone else??
  • The Itch of Doom is still going, and I've added monster heartburn. Stabbing, burning, choking heartburn. Thank god for Zantac.

  • 15 +1. Have a constant feeling of tightness across the top of my abdomen, above my belly button. Sometimes happens below my belly button. Anyone else experience this? Plus horrible bloat and constipation. Basically feeling miserable and like I can't breathe right.

I have not experienced this, but I would call your doctor. My doctor said any burst of unexpected fluid to call.
  • 14+4 and hubs says I officially have a 'bump'. Well in his words "you either have a bump or your getting fat". So sensitive, I know! But to me I just feel like a beached whale. I've always been fit with a flat stomach all my life so I'm really struggling with this mid-way stage of not looking pregnant, just looking like I ate too many burritos at lunch. Any ladies have any advice on dealing with this?

Mine got like this toward the end of my first pregnancy. They were dry and itchy. I was told to use lanolin, it is what you put on them when/if you breastfeed. I just started it as part of my routine of oiling my stomach and putting that on my nips.

Side Note: the first time my husband saw me doing this, he was brushing his teeth, he couldn't take his eyes off me. Mature anyone? It was like I was standing next to a teenager :)

@erincjackson I just wanted to let you know that I had a coworker whose daughter had a 2-vessel cord as well. She was born early and small and is a smaller than average child (or at least she was last time I saw her) but otherwise is healthy. Her mom (my former coworker) had pre-e and was induced several weeks ahead of the due date so the girl was actually preemie. I don't know anything else about your situation health-wise but I was just hoping to give you encouragement about the 2-vessel cord. I'm sure your doctor will give you a lot more info on it too.
  • So stuffed up today, I can barely breathe. I don't know if it's allergies or the beginnings my or a sinus cold, but holy moly. Itchy nipples here too. And my bump really popped over the weekend. My DH can't stop staring at it. In clothes, naked, whatever, he wants to see it. I think it turns him on.
  • Just wondering if anyone has run or jogged since getting pregnant I walk with my god brother and today he got away and started running towards to the street and I had to chase after him is this fine or should I be worried?

@RepeatPostPolice Thank you so much! I'm hoping for a positive outcome. Our other 3 are completely healthy and have no problems so we are hoping that at most she is our "runt", meant with nothing but affection. Our other 3 were over 8lbs at delivery. Just a shock. I had a big SCH a few weeks and just now stopped bleeding and passing clots so we weren't expecting this news after that scare. She's a fighter already.

I called my doc and just heard back.. they said its nothing to be concerned with unless I start cramping, bleeding, or have any other concerning symptoms.

You're not broken!  Of course you can safely run or jog, provided you aren't high risk or your doctor hasn't specifically told you not too!  Running such a short distance is even less of a worry, i'd think.  If you are going out for a legit run just remember to stay hydrated and don't overheat.

  • Lol thanks @kaos16 I just worry so much.

I'm pretty sure my hubby would offer to do it for me. Haha. Boys.
  • Apparently as of today eating apples is a no go. I can drink apple juice like it's going out of style, but as soon as that apple hits my stomach I feel nauseous for hours. Ugh.. I love apples.

A bit stuffy today,. Noticed my stomach is getting a tight feeling. Lotion is my best friend right now, it's the only thing to help the stretching feeling. Usually peeing helps, but not today. Lotion, lotion, lotion.
  • So my only concerning symptom is bright red spotting with cramping. I went to the dr this past Friday bc of it and they did an ultrasound and said everything looks great and my cervix was fine (checking the cervix was not pleasant at all!). I always read and heard that cramping with bright red is not good but the dr(not my regular dr bc she was out of the office) said it can happen and it's nothing to worry about. I started spotting again and cramping again and I just can't help but think something may be wrong. Anyone else experience this and was told it was normal??
  • 14&1 and feels like my rib cage is being yanked apart. Anyone else feel this? It's way too early for baby to be that high but geez it hurts.

I haven't had that yet this time around but I did with DD. I think it's because all the other organs are moving up out of the way for the baby.
  • 16 weeks and 3 days. The exhaustion is worse, has not eased up at all. I can sleep 13 hours straight and still need a nap at some point. This is my third pregnancy and I have never been this tired. I'm also dealing with sch but it isn't bugging me to bad. Anyone else still beyond tired?
  • Still tired. I require a nap almost daily so the beast in me isn't unleashed. Getting excited to feel baby. I thought on week 16 I felt them in there, but haven't felt the flutters again since. 16w4d today. Super sensitive nipples and peed for the first time last night after a sneeze. Let motherhood begin! Haha
  • 15+2 and I cannot satisfy my salt cravings! Everything tastes like it needs more salt! Chicken broth, pickles, pork rinds, nothing is salty enough.

I've been fighting the urge to pour some salt on a spoon and eating it!
  • I scheduled an elective ultrasound for tonight (I just couldn't wait 4 more weeks to see the baby/possibly find out the sex) and for some reason I am so on edge that they will find something wrong that I am causing myself unnecessary anxiety. The baby has had a great heartbeat and I have no health problems so I know this is just silly. I couldn't even eat lunch and have noticed I've been holding my breath while I am sitting at my desk at work. I can't wait until 6 pm to see the ultrasound on screen so I can calm the F down!
  • @gcolon7988 that is me!!! Salt salt salt! I even salted my pizza this weekend. Everyone stared at me.

You could have a bit of an electrolyte imbalance. Try eating things with potassium (bananas, kiwis) or magnesium (nuts, pumpkin seeds) and see if it eases up!
