When to order a blood pregnancy test?

Hi April moms, I am curious about your thoughts on this. I am wondering if I should order a blood pregnancy test. I recently had a MC at 5 weeks, then became pregnant right after (within first cycle). I'm currently 4 weeks and 4 days, and feeling great but naturally cautious and a bit apprehensive this time around. I'm wondering if I should get a hormone level test done so I can know whether the baby-to-be is progressing as it should be. Or should I just wait till my first appointment (at 8 weeks). I appreciate any input you may have. Thank you!

I'm all for betas. While they can create a bit of stress, they are usually helpful to me. Just make sure you tell them you'd like a quant. hcg test with a follow up in 48 hours so they don't just do a regular "yep, you're knocked up" blood test. This should give you some peace of mind!
