Csection vs. vaginal birth

has anyone had both? I had a csection with my daughter 2.5 years ago & the recovery from what I remember was terrible! I wanted to push for a vbac this time if the dr agrees. Has anyone had both already? Which labor/recovery was worse?!

Re: Csection vs. vaginal birth

  • I have had both, c section with my first and VBAC with my second. Vaginal birth recovery is so much easier! I took no pain meds during or after birth and was in the hospital 30 hours total vs 4 days with my c section.

  • Recovery from a vaginal birth is usually easier because it's not major surgery. There can be complications from tearing etc but usually it's the better way to go.
There was a thread not to long ago on this that had lots of good answers. If you search for natural birth or c-section? It should pop up
  • C-section and then VBAC with my 2nd.  VBAC all the way!  Recovery is so much better and easier.  I would recommend a VBAC to anyone who was allowed to do so by their doc.

  • Just wanted to chime in and let you know there's also a vbac check-in at least once a week as well.
  • If you're not creeped out by it .... To reduce tearing you can pat your vagina with moist and hot towels and a bit of oil throught labour. I only say this because it is preventable
  • I had a csection with my first and I plan to do so again. I didn't take any pain meds when I went home and I was walking 6 hrs after surgery.
